Why Roxanne Hopkins chose Candelo
"Inglewood" farm was settled in 1864 and has been a dairy farm all its life in the beautiful Candelo village. The beautiful main homestead and other farm home- Berowra cottage was built from timber milled on the property and has weathered all types of weather. The old farm trees were planted by the original owners "Solomans" who loved the English gardens and hence we have the oldest pin oak tree, Port Douglas fig trees, coral trees, pine trees and other large beautiful trees placed around the homesteads. Farm life continues on this working farm where beef production, lamb and wool is its main primary production.

A wonderful relaxing week away
We can not recommend staying here enough. It truly is a home away from home with everything you could ever need.
Plenty of animals including Sookie, the friendliest dog. We fed the chickens each morning and collected the eggs. There are plenty of other farm animals too. We got to cuddle baby chicks and saw a lamb enter the world.
We explored the area by day and relaxed by the fire at night and enjoyed the afternoon sun on the back deck.
Mark and Roxanne have made sure everything you need is there. The pantry is amazing and there was home made bread for us when we arrived which was delicious. Plenty of toys for our grandson to play with and a full kitchen full of appliances to cook up a storm. Thank you Mark and Roxanne, the family had such a great time we hope to return.

Quiet, relaxing and fun for the kids
Relaxing four night stay with two very active boys who loved the open space! They enjoyed feeding the chooks their daily breakfast and checking for eggs, feeding Henry and Henrietta, swinging on the tree tyre and keeping the farm dog company. Small selection of toys in the kids bedroom and DVDs kept them entertained during their quiet time. Loved the freshly baked bread, fresh selection of herbs and the jam/relishes. Pantry staples were great as it allowed us to make fresh pancakes and a selection of cereals were provided but didn’t need them! Boys also loved the Easter egg hunt, which was a nice surprise. Even our border collie loved having a run around in the large yard. Thank you.
A wonderful, family friendly place. Lovely hosts and beautiful scenery in every direction.
The scene was set while cruising along the driveway. Rolling hills occupied with cattle and sheep. Beautiful and spacious cottage with its own fenced yard and chook pen. Our 18 month old enjoyed the space both in and outdoors. Roxy and Mark are amazing and had thought of absolutely everything to make our stay comfortable.
With a tour around the farm and introductions to the animals we were able to visit the animals and explore the farm as we pleased.
The location was ideal with only a short drive into town and only 30 minutes from Merimbula and it’s lovely beaches. Roxy had great suggestions of places to visit in town and on the coast.
The homemade bread on arrival was a perfect touch.
We will definitely be back to this beautiful part of the world!
Thank you Mark and Roxy.
A Taste of Country Living
We stayed at Berowra Cottage for a weekend. At first sight of the heritage style cottage and beautiful surrounds, we knew we were in for something special. Once we entered the cottage we were welcomed with freshly baked bread, fresh eggs picked from the resident hens and an assortment of homemade jams made by Roxy. Mark and Roxy were exceptional hosts, who have presented Berowra cottage immaculately and shared with us some valuable knowledge of life in the country. We also became acquainted with Henry and Henrietta, the friendly pigs that call Inglewood farm home. We highly recommend staying at Berowra Cottage and are looking forward to retuning to stay again.
Property was amazing, location is great.
We stayed at Berowra Cottage for our annual Girls Weekend away. The location of the property was beautiful. The house was beautiful, clean and had everything you could have ever needed.
Loved the fresh baked bread and eggs, was a lovely touch and was devoured on our first mornings breakfast and the staples in the pantry was a nice surprise.
We luckily got a very hot weekend and thoroughly enjoyed spending a lazy arfternoon by the pool.
We explored the property and loved meeting all the farm animals. We collected fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast. We also picked limes for our drinks and even took a few home they were so good.
Great hosts we especially loved the company of Sookie the dog who was a lovely friendly pooch.
Thank you for making our much needed weekend away for 7 mothers (whom we call the JTOTS) with 18 kids between them fantastic.
Thanks from The JTOTS
Fantastic stay, highly recommend!!
We stayed here for only 2 nights with our 4 and 6 year old children. Felt like home from the moment we arrived! We felt so welcomed and the house had everything we needed. The kids had a great time feeding the chickens, pigs and other animals and made friends with the very friendly Sooky the dog. They woke up each morning asking if they could go and help Mr Hopkins! We visited the local pub on Friday night which was a good feed and had a great day at the Bega Show, but would have been just as happy spending the whole time on the farm. So sad to leave this beautiful place, but we will definitely be back! Thank you Mr and Mrs Hopkins!!! From The Koolis family x
