Fully self-contained Cottage in the heart of the Barossa, walk to wineries!
We love food, wine and travel and really enjoy meeting guests from all over the world that stay on our property. It's also fun to be able to see guests at our cellar door nearby, where we offer wine tastings and tours of the winery. Rolf Binder winery was established in 1955 and we produce a wide range of white, red and fortified wines, selling into 18 countries around the globe. Our guests can enjoy a special bottle with any 2 night stay! Full breakfast provisions highlighting local Barossa produce are also included. We stay on top of communication with guests to ensure they have an enjoyable stay and also provide lots of useful local knowledge to help plan time in the region. Our goal is to make guests feel like they have a sense for what it's like to actually live in the Barossa. Stay with us for a unique visit to our beautiful region! Cheers, Cynthia & Rolf
Why Cynthia chose Stone Well
What's special about our place?? 1. The location - nestled on the very edge of Tanunda township, guests enjoy a rural feeling while still having the advantage of being centrally located & conveniently close to wineries, restaurants & shopping. 2. Privacy 3. Nature - take a stroll around the 27 hectare property & look for kangaroos on the top of the hill around dusk!

Great cottage in Tanunda
Comfortable, very well located 2BR cottage with a nice kitchen and a comfy living room. Minutes drive (or even walk) to the center of Tanunda. Cynthia was a great host - provided us with some good tips for local places to visit and eat and left a bottle of their own wine for us (the owners are winemakers). Breakfast assortment was tasty, plentiful and ideal for people who enjoy putting together their own breakfast. We had fun cooking in the kitchen using some local produce, including quinces from the garden outside the house. The cottage has lots of warm blankets for those crisp cold Barossa nights... Would definitely recommended this place to stay in Barossa!
Thanks for the kind words and nice feedback Davor! It's greatly appreciated. I'm so glad you had an enjoyable stay - especially loved that you cooked up some quinces from the garden! Would be great to see you back again sometime. Cheers, Cynthia
My friend and I booked for her 60th birthday, and had a lovely stay. The owners have some beautiful art-deco furniture which really helps to give the place that 60s feel. Comfortable beds, generous breakfast supplies, plus a complimentary bottle of the owners' wine, which was a lovely touch.
We selected this because it was a 2 bedroom apartment and needed the use of two bedrooms, however, once paid, our receipt indicated 'use of one bedroom only' and so I had to ring to amend the booking and pay extra. Hopefully this has now been updated on the Stayz' site to reflect that the price quoted was for use of one bedroom only.
This was far enough out of town to be very quiet. It had everything you might want although WiFi was weak at the time we visited.
Thanks for taking the time to submit a review Gary & Carol. Really appreciate that. It was a pleasure to have you stay in our Cottage & we hope you can make it back again someday. All the best to you both. Cheers, Cynthia
Terrific Cottage in the Barossa
Had an excellent time at this cottage. The place was neat and clean and had a very retro feel about it. The hosts were terrific and helpful with any requests, and also supplied a stocked fridge full of fresh food with cheeky bottle of wine on the table. Located close to all the wineries and not far from coffee shops and restaurants, perfect for exploring the Barossa region. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay around Tanunda.
Thanks for the lovely review Matt! It was great to meet you & your family & we're so glad you enjoyed the Cottage & your time in the Barossa. We hope to see you back again next time! Cheers, Cynthia
This cottage is located very close to the township of Tanunda, and is only 5 minutes away from the shops. It's located behind vineyards so waking up in the morning and looking out to those makes you feel rural and peaceful.
The cottage has two bedrooms, and features retro design, and provides all that you need for a relaxing stay. A well stocked pantry of breakfast supplies, generous portions of Orange Juice, fresh Milk, egg, bacon, mushrooms tomatoes, yoghurt and bananas and kitchen cooking implements and standard cooking ingredients helps make being independent easy.
The car parking is private and covered, so car is protected.
Quality TV, Music, range of books to read, and a complimentary bottle of wine and a decanter of port adds to the experience.
It's not a "pretty" cottage, but it sure does deliver on many other levels. Outdoor eating area for the warmer weather, breeze through the windows.... getting relaxed just thinking about it.
Thanks for leaving the review Kerri. Most kind. It was a pleasure to host you in our cottage & we're glad you enjoyed your stay. Certainly sounded like you were having quite a gourmand extravaganza of a weekend! Hope to meet you both next time...sorry we crossed paths. Best regards, Cynthia
