My husband Peter and I are passionate about home renovation and traveling the world. We built our stunning beach house, 'Villa Macleay', 20 years ago and we have decided it is now time to start sharing it with other people. Over the last 2 decades, Villa Macleay has been a haven for our children and now our grandchildren. Likewise, we are excited to announce that we are also now listing our beautifully renovated, art deco New Farm apartments, 'Bursely' and 'Aotea'. Both apartments are too stunning to keep from the growing community and is perfect for business people, visiting families to Brisbane and boarding school parents wanting somewhere more personalised than a hotel when they visit their children for weekends. We believe in presenting our properties in a style that we would like to stay in ourselves. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

'Aotea' was built as two adjoining flats in the Art - Deco style in 1936 for Mr William Danaher, and has been in the family ever since. It features stunning original hardwood floors, picture rails, timber paneled doors and some of the original light fittings. This property is not our home, it is listed exclusively as a holiday rental, so if it isn't already booked, you can always consider it yours every time you need to stay in beautiful inner city Brisbane.

A good stay
This is a very well presented small home, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We stayed for 5 weeks and experienced many very hot days and nights. There are air conditioning units in most rooms and they work well. However as it is a brick home, it does hold the heat.
Sue was always quick to respond to my emails at the booking stage and was always contactable.
It is situated in a good neighbourhood, with a great cafe nearby, the Moray Cafe, plus the bus stops regularly at the door.
Beautiful, very clean, well maintained roomy property
We loved staying at “Bursley”. Sue, met us with much enthiusium and kindness. The unit was well stocked with everything and more than you need. The location is perfect for getting to the city via bus,ferry or walking. We walked the river walk to town and rode the ferry. I would definitely stay here again. Thank-you Sue.
Simply put, this rental took my breath away. Charming, very nice house. Lots of great wood working, beautiful floors, lots of space. Layout is good, master bedroom has a little office. Outside space is very well used, there's seating on the side yard which is designed in such a way to be very private from the street.
Location wise, New Farm is great. House is very close to great groceries - including a nice fruit market and a good butcher. Loads of great places to eat or grab a drink. House is also walkable to ferry system, there's a bus stop right out front that takes you into downtown. Wonderful places to go for a morning run.
Owners are great. Easy communicators, very responsive. Left some bread and jam for a snack upon arrival.
This was a wonderful place to fall in love with Brisbane. I'm going to go out of my way to stay here again.
A quiet, charming Art Déco house in a delightful suburb near to the city centre.
The property was well appointed, with effective air-conditioning in both bedrooms and the lounge. At each end of the property there is a breakfast room and a study. The kitchen and bathroom had everything necessary for a pleasant stay. The owner, Sue,was friendly and helpful with welcome information about neighbourhood shopping and restaurants.
Our brief stay in Brisbane was greatly enhanced by this pleasant house in a great location.

Lovely accommodation with terrific access to the city
The apartment is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped; everything we needed.
In both walking directions from 'Aotea', award restaurants and cafes are a mere 5 minutes away. Further afield within a 5 minute drive, New Farm also boasts the James Street Restaurant precinct, Coles and IGA supermarkets, two cinema complexes, the Powerhouse Theatre, the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, 24 hour gyms, hairdressers, delicious takeaways, and glorious New Farm Park, which hosts a weekly Saturday Farmer's Market and features one of Brisbane's best children's playgrounds. The adjacent suburbs of Teneriffe , Newstead, and Fortitude Valley are also vibrant and full of clubs, bars, high end fashion boutiques, homeware stores and restaurants.
