Stubbs Cottage is ideal base for fishing with boat ramps at Walkerville North and South beaches. Walkerville South Beach (and the historic limestone kilns) voted one of the best beaches in Victoria is a short walk by either beach or State Park walking paths. Numerous other walking trails are easily accessible from the State Park.
Surfing is also available in abundance from the break directly in front of the house to excellent beach and point breaks at Cape Liptrap, Waratah, Sandy Point and of course the Prom. Aside from Stubbs Cottage being a great location to access the majesty of Wilsons Promontory, Phillip Island is only an hours drive and nearby towns such as Fish Creek Tarwin Lower,and Meenyan are all worth a visit.
