About Michelle and Andrew Woodhouse
We love to travel and explore all parts of Australia and the world and we are so lucky to live in the water paradise of Port Stephens. Travelling with our family means ensuring our dog can join us as well and ensuring that our guests (including our 4-legged ones!) have the best time in our beautiful area, is our number one joy.
Michelle and Andrew Woodhouse purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Michelle and Andrew Woodhouse chose Shoal Bay
Shearwater Cottages is very special to us as our desire is that all members of the family have a great time and that guests can feel happy knowing that their 4-legged loved ones are safe and secure. Our cottages ensure that it is a 'home away from home' and dogs are welcome inside. All linen is provided as well as a breakfast selection to start your stay.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our cottages are comfortable, welcoming and located close to all the activities that Port Stephens has to offer including dog friendly beaches and parks. Enjoy the many beaches and waterways; swim, sunbake or read a book in the sun; take a dolphin or whale cruise; wander along the many walking trails; relax in quiet corners; enjoy the coffee shops, restaurants and speciality shops and simply relax and enjoy!

Can't wait to stay again Home away from Home
Wow! What a surprise. Michelle and Andrew have thought of everything and our stay over at Shearwater Cottages was just what we needed after a long drive. Basil settled in really quickly - everything had been though of. Our only regret was that we did not stay longer (will next time :-)). Shoal Bay was close and easy to get to for dinner as well. Thanks Michelle and Andrew
Excellent family holiday home for both 2 legged and 4 legged children 😊
Michelle & Andrew are great hosts who have not forgot a single detail to ensure you enjoy your stay. House is beautiful and clean all linen provided and included a fudge full of delicious breakfast ingredients. There was a special treat left for us on the dining table for Mother’s Day and the pup received one too, very thoughtful and made us feel special. Definently recommend this home to anyone wanting to spend a weekend in Shoal Bay!
Very nice cottage
This is a lovely place to stay, great breaky package.
Thanks for staying with us and also for your review - so kind of you Sue!
Lovely, relaxing break with everything you could want.
Immaculately clean. Considerate attention to detail. Breakfast ingredients greatly appreciated!
Hi Natasha, thank you for your kind review. We appreciate it. It was lovely to have you and your family stay and also Reggie!
Excellent dog friendly cottage!
Michelle and Andrew’s place is fabulous in all ways: Immaculate clean, strategic location with beaches, shops, and lots of dog friendly restaurants/cafes/ parks/beaches.
You can really feel home away from home once you step into the cottage. The decoration of the house, the personalised note and a treat for the dog is really surprising. Love the ingredients of the breakfast, you don’t have to worry for your first meal if arriving late.
When I booked the place, I’m afraid that I can’t cook some meals. But to my surprise, their kitchen is full functioning as in back at home will all the utensils and cookware, microwave, oven, and fridge!
Will definitely book Shearwater at Shoal Bay again in my next visit to Port Stephens.
Hi Sharon, thank you so much for your kind review. We look forward to you returning (and Mika as well!)
