Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
No refunds for cancellations made after payment is made
Many many rules and no communication
While the house itself was clean, neat and tidy, the guidebook that we read on arrival had many many rules in it that seemed restrictive for our short time there. We arrived later in the evening and although we reached out to the letting agent by phone and requested a later check out time (the rules stated firmly that we must be out of the house by 10 am or be charged another day), and we didn't ever hear back. The lack of communication and alternative contact number was frustrating. While the token juice box sized milk left in the fridge was somewhat appreciated (it's a house that can hold 8 people) it certainly wasn't enough. Another house that we stayed at in Tasmania had a stock in the fridge, with milk and bread, pantry staples, as well as a beautiful local, bottle of wine. Those gestures go along way for tired travelers who can't cart groceries with them or are aware of closing times of local shops. While we understood that the guidelines needed to be explained, the guidebook read more of a rulebook and without getting to speak with someone directly, it had the opposite effect of a warm and welcoming home.
Hi Lianne, It was great to have you and your family with us. We hope you have had a lovely time while staying at the property. The Freycinet Holiday Houses team thank you for your review. You will be glad to hear that since your departure; we have reworded the information we provide at the house for a more friendly and welcoming message. We are surprised to hear you couldn’t reach us after 5 pm as we do have a 24 hours mobile number to all our in-house guests. The number is clearly showed in the compendium at the house, in the welcoming message and in our phone message bank if you call after our office closes at 5. When booking this house, guests are booking a self-contained accommodation and not a serviced venue. You may not have been aware that Dove on Freycinet is not an individually operated bed and breakfast venue. There are two small shops in town to buy groceries, and a few local eateries to enhance guests experience while in this Region. We do always suggest to our guests, to do their bulk shopping either at Hobart or Launceston before heading here, to get more range of products. Especially if you are arriving outside the shops opening hours. Again, thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. The Freycinet Holiday Houses Team
Dove on Freycinet
The house was perfect for our needs. We arrived early evening and it was cold, the property manager had the heater was on so the house was warm for us. Living areas are large and comfortable.
