First impression was a bit disappointing, as there was a lot of bird poo on the front balcony and screen door. Inside was very clean. The accommodation suited our needs as it was very close to where we had to go
Lovely quiet location near to Botantical Gardens
The property was tidy and the house was very clean and nicely furnished. We had the potbelly fire going both nights we were there, it was brilliant. The beds were firm but very comfortable, with plenty of bedding to keep us all warm. Possibly a couple of extra pillows might have been nice for those of us who like a firmer/fuller pillow.
The gardens where great with plenty of space to walk and kids to run.
The Botanical Gardens and food was just up the road so when we did want to get out it was a simply 2 minute drive.
A couple of lights needed replacing, including the front verandah but a small point.
Overall all great place, thanks Anna.
Perfect getaway from the city. Beautiful grounds and location i lesser visited part of the Blue Mountains. Very considerate host.
Delightful family, understanding and respectful of my home. Left the house immaculately clean. Very welcome to visit again and thank you for staying.
Remote Mountain Getaway
Mt Tomah Woodlands Retreat is a pretty well equipped cabin in the Blue Mountains.
We were visiting the area for a wedding and unfortunately didn't get much time to explore the property's gardens as our only free morning at the house, it was pouring with rain.
The rooms are spacious, but there were a few maintenance issues that we couldn't flag until we got home due to the area having no phone service and the cabin is not equipped with wifi.
It's also worth knowing that the closest supermarket is a 35 minute drive away and there are very few dining out options during the day and basically none for the evenings so make sure you bring plenty of supplies.
If you are after a weekend away to escape the rat race, this is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge.
The house looked normal. There was no internet access and we could not make a call (no service) so we had to drive to Richmond. The sofa was filthy, the cover needed a wash. Bedrooms and bathrooms are clean but to call overseas just forget about it. She gave us a hard time in the beginning for she asked for some personal info because she didn't trust us. We paid the deposit and she did not want to rent it to us. It never happened before. We rented several properties in the past. Nobody gave us this type of trouble before. I left it clean. She did hesitate to thank us.
Your review was very harsh and unfair!
When you made the initial booking you had no references on Stayz or FB for me the check your identity and character, this is not 'giving you a hard time', its a standard practise for people who let their homes out.
You didnt want to pay the cleaning fee and wanted to do it yourself which is a most unusual request.
The couches are not filthy, they are high quality Italian linen in an earthy colour.
There is no wifi offered, it says that in the listing which you must have overlooked.
You chose a very remote location given you drove to Botany every day for work!
You were a very difficult and argumentative guest and we did our best to accomodate you.
It´s just an amazing, wonderful and magical place
The driveway leads you to a beautiful wooden cabin that is much bigger than anticipated. 2 large bedrooms and a living/dining room and kitchen all in one large room. 2 bathrooms each with a large tub! There is even a washing machine and tumbler and dishwashing machine. Best of all there´s a new gas stove and a huge fridge/freezer with ice cube machine! It´s absolutely luxurious. And immaculately kept.
The house is surrounded by big climbing trees and secret passage ways lead up to yet more climbing trees. It´s all quite magical. Our 2 toddlers enjoyed it so much they cried when we left! We will be back! The Blue Mountains Botanical Garden is just down the road and is absolutely worth many a visit! Thank you sooo much to Anna and Karen for giving us such a magical and beautiful experience.
Dear Jonatan and family,
it was just a pleasure to have you stay at our mountain hideaway. What nice and tidy people you are and such delightful children!
thank you for caring for our little house, we look forward to welcoming you back anytime you need a peaceful break from city life.
With warm regards
Anna and Karen
