A Little Peace at the Point is the perfect size for a couple or a small family. Stay with us for your visit or vacation.
Saturday to Saturday weekly rentals in summer, generally 2 day minimum the rest of the year. We rent YEAR ROUND.

This totally renovated cottage is located among 1900's cottages and just steps from everything at the Point. This sweet little abode began life in the early 1900’s as a seasonal cottage, and a few years ago was winterized and now hosts travelers year round.

Mature shade trees and a wonderful lake breeze keep you cool in the summer. **The cottage is well insulated and if needed the window AC Unit works great even on the hottest of days** Fans are also provided. Natural gas heat keeps you toasty warm and cozy in the colder months.

The family room has a large couch(NEW 2017 sleeper) and a love seat and armchair. A Flat screen TV with built in Blu-Ray player with cable and free Wi-Fi, Google Chromecast is also provided.

The newly renovated kitchen features all new appliances, cabinets and finishes. If you want to cook, the kitchen is ready for you with complete cookware and dinnerware. A microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and a blender are included too. An outside gas grill is also provided.

There is one bedroom, with a queen bed *NEW 2018 Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress*. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room that sleeps 2 *NEW 2017*as well as a pullout queen sleeper sofa in the sleeping porch.

The bathroom is all new, and includes a tub/shower unit.

Step outside and enjoy seating out back, with a beautiful view of the park and the water just a few steps away. There is a NEW 2018 WEBER gas grill, table and chairs. A firepit is also provided (firewood is available in town). A short 5 minute walk across the park brings you to the restaurants and clubs on the Point. A 2 minute walk from the front door takes you to the lake beach where campfires are permitted. The Public beach is just down from there as well.

And there is plenty to do nearby…Sodus Point is a dining, boating and fishing mecca. There are 2 lighthouses, a museum (free summer Sunday concerts on the lawn 2PM), fishing pier, several marinas, boat rentals, charter fishing boats, 2 playgrounds, skate park, ball field, really nice public beach(with lifeguards), multiple restaurants (open late), ice cream stands, gift shop, church, and convenience market.

The Bay Street, Franklin House, Six50, Marlin's and the ever popular Capt. Jacks.

Take a 10 minute drive west to our hometown, Pultneyville, and you’ll find the Pultneyville Deli & Up Pub, The Pultneyville Harbor Grille, an Art Gallery, museum, antique shop, churches, and beautiful Pultneyville Harbor.

Palmyra is 25 minutes south.

Dirty and Smelly

Host offered a slight refund but doesn’t make up for what we endured. Listing states porch & sleeper sofa, porch smelled of cigarette smoke we couldn’t sleep on it! Inside smelled of smoke too so opened windows to breathe at night. Don’t be fooled by the Britta filter on the faucet, coffee pot was gross greasy dirty hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Cleaned it, made coffee, big mistake, I was ill running to the bathroom, same for our pup. Thank goodness for the Quick Stop for water and coffee. Kitchen counters and table were dirty. Don’t worry about the hole in the bathroom floor they’ve put an area rug over it. Might be a bit chilly as there is no heat in the bathroom. Toilet was gross, and the shower curtain had mildew. The carpet is dirty and is covering ‘soft spots’ in the floor, but wall to wall, so you won’t fall through. Host mentioned it will be cleaned on 4/18/24 but doesn’t make me feel better after paying extraordinary, inflated eclipse charges! We did enjoy the eclipse, Sodus Pt. put on fireworks display. The property has a cute firepit, so we enjoyed days/evenings outside. Would have been horrible if it rained. We were all very glad to get home and scrub off the smell! Unfortunately, I can't give zero stars & review must be under 1500 characters hopefully I've given clear enough description so you know what you would be walking into.

Great stay great cottage

Nice clean cottage with great atmosphere and comfort. Woke up to our first snow of the year. We enjoyed our stay and would love to comeback

About the host

We are a working couple with grown kids and 2 dogs, and we love the country. Our families have been in the area for over a hundred years.

We own and manage a cottage in Sodus Point (A little Peace at the Point) and one in Pultneyville (The Pultneyville Harbor Office Cottage).
Our house in Pultneyville is an 1883 farm house, largely original, on 7 acres with lake views.

We spend our spare time fixing up the place and refinishing antiques. A lot of the time we sit on the porch and, sit.

Tom hiked 800 miles of the Appalachian Trial and has driven across the country 6 times, once on a motorcycle.

We love to travel, & we love travelers!

Why they chose this property

We have a cottage we rent out in Pultneyville (The Pultneyville Harbor Office Cottage) and we loved making new friends and hosting. When this cottage became available we jumped on it. It's close to everything, and we plan on using it some too. The Point is such a fun place, even in the off season. Come join us for A Little Peace at the Point!
