In reality this is a very old beach cottage. Whilst it is in a good location, quiet, close to Wineglass Bay lookout hike, it didn’t meet the advertised description of the property. The carpet throughout was filthy, stained, didn’t appear to have even been cleaned/vacuumed prior to our arrival. The main bedroom had a bed with a very old, uncomfortable double bed mattress that sagged in the middle. The whole place had a dirty feel about it, ants through the kitchen drawers etc. The “automatic washing machine” was an old grotty twintub that had dirt in it. We didn’t sit on the dining room chairs, they were stained and filthy. Luckily it was sunny so we could sit and eat all our meals on the deck. We left our stay a day early because my back couldn’t tolerate the poor quality bed. Might be worth the $$$ if you had 11 people staying but for a couple we thought it overpriced. Stayed in Jan 2018.
Hi Trevor, Thank you for your feedback, we do appreciate any constructive feedback from guests. We are disappointed to hear you did not find this holiday house to your liking, it is very popular and is constantly booked due to the character and location of this holiday house. This house is not a "new" holiday house, as you can see in the photo's supplied on stayz. It is however cleaned to a high standard each time we prepare it for guests. If furniture or carpets are a little bit older, it doesn't mean it is "dirty/ filthy". We have briefed our cleaning team and the house was thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed before your arrival, there were also no ants at the time it was cleaned. In a forest location in the National Park we may get ants coming in occasionally, this is something we sort out as soon as we know about it. We will certainly pass on your comments regarding the bed to the owners. As you know, there were 2 other queen beds and another double bed at the property that were accessible for you to change over to if you were finding the main bed not to your liking. We hope you enjoyed the many other aspects of this house. Thank you again for your comments, we will look at addressing these issues.
Cove cottage is in a Beautiful Location right in the national park, nice view to the bay, friendly wildlife, the kitchen is well stocked with plates, pots etc. Was a bit dissapointed with distance and steepness to the beach (80-100 metres along dirt road) , as we had elderly parents who wanted to fish off the beach, was too difficult for them to walk and there is a no parking sign at the beach. Otherwise it was a nice shack to stay in.
Hi Kelly, It was great to have you and your family with us. We are so glad you have had a lovely time while staying at the property. The Freycinet Holiday Houses team thank you for your review. This property usually has fantastic reviews and has been enjoyed by the high number of guests that have stayed. Being the location in the heart of the National Park the most loved feature of this property. But also, the walking distance to some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole Region. We are sorry you weren’t aware the access to the closest beach from this property is on a dirt road; we clearly advertised this on our listing. Please ensure if this is an important aspect for your stay, that you research the property and ensure the features you want at the surroundings are indeed provided. Again, thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. The Freycinet Holiday Houses Team
