About Renee de Saxe
Our family moved to the Barossa Valley in 2016. We live just up the road from the 40 Acre Retreat. We love the Marananga area, its location is so central and the valley is so picturesque.
Renee de Saxe purchased this Farmhouse in 2017
Why Renee de Saxe chose Marananga
Visitors to the Barossa Valley have been staying at the 40 Acre Retreat for well over 6 years. We took ownership of the property at the end of 2017. We loved the abundance of natural light and big open plan living space. We got to work straight away giving the place a much needed overhaul and we think the results speak for themselves. Our aim was to create a home that was fresh, inviting and relaxed both indoors and out.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Located on a 40 Acre farm, the birds are generally the noisiest thing you will hear, or the lambs in lambing season. It is a short drive to the most visited wine and food offering in the valley.

Lovely cosy property in a peaceful location just minutes drive away from everything you need. Basic cooking facilities but quite adequate. We visited in winter and heating was great.
Great house in a great location
This was a perfect house for 3 couples in the middle of winter. The kitchen was well stocked so we could easily cook dinner when we didnt feel like going out again in the cold.
The fireplace coupled with the air-conditioning in the bedrooms kept us warm.
Close to great wineries and the towns of Tanunda and Nuri to shop and eat.
Only criticism is that the garbage from the previous
stay was left in the bins in the house. In general the house was very clean.
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and I’m shocked to hear the garbage was left inside the house. As I was away I wasn’t there to double check everything before you arrived and would have assumed the previous people that stayed or at least the cleaners would have taken it out. I apologize for this as it is definitely not the norm.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay perfect for family and or friends getaway- perfectly located in the heart of everything
On arrival the outside looked disappointing but inside was lovely and very good setup, very comfy
we had a lovely stay, perfect location to hentley farm, inside was lovely and very cosy, beds comfy and the layout of the inside was perfect for us. really enjoyed our stay, the hosts are lovely and very easy to deal with. The inside is much nicer than the outside, but the verandah was still lovely to sit on and admire the view.
The perfect getaway
Absolutely love staying here. Is the second time we have chosen to stay at 40 acre retreat. The house is in a great location and has everything you need for a relaxing Barossa getaway.
Lovely location, close enough to everything but far enough away for peace and quiet. Lovely big living area/kitchen for our group of 8. Linen is lovely and beds are comfortable.
Located in the heart of Barossa wine grape growing country, near the famous Seppeltsfield Road. Within walking distance of Two Hand wines, around the corner from Hentley Farm, Seppeltsfield, Greenock Creek Wines and Whistler Wines.
