About Sue Hawkins
My husband Peter and I are passionate about home renovation and traveling the world. We built our stunning beach house, 'Villa Macleay', 20 years ago and we have decided it is now time to start sharing it with other people. Over the last 2 decades, Villa Macleay has been a haven for our children and now our grandchildren. Likewise, we are excited to announce that we are also now listing our beautifully renovated, art deco New Farm apartments, 'Bursely' and 'Aotea'. Both apartments are too stunning to keep from the growing community and is perfect for business people, visiting families to Brisbane and boarding school parents wanting somewhere more personalised than a hotel when they visit their children for weekends. We believe in presenting our properties in a style that we would like to stay in ourselves. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Sue Hawkins purchased this Apartment in 2001
Why Sue Hawkins chose New Farm
'Aotea' was built as two adjoining flats in the Art - Deco style in 1936 for Mr William Danaher, and has been in the family ever since. It features stunning original hardwood floors, picture rails, timber paneled doors and some of the original light fittings. This property is not our home, it is listed exclusively as a holiday rental, so if it isn't already booked, you can always consider it yours every time you need to stay in beautiful inner city Brisbane.
What makes this Apartment unique
We have added a beautiful relaxed covered courtyard where you can dine, read a book, have a coffee, beer, or glass of wine, and while away the hours.

Beautiful place with everything you need.
Wished we could have stayed longer
Fabulous place and location.
Will definitely recommend this to our family and friends.
Sue was also very professional to deal with.
I give this 5 stars
Fantastic location and a beautiful, absolutely immaculate property furnished with everything you need.
Beautiful historic house with modern updates
The architecture in this house is beautiful. It has been updated with all the modern features, but still has a wonderful character & charm. This home was a perfect size for our family of 4. There is plenty of free street parking, and it is located close to the river walk, which we would highly recommend taking. Very convenient for the airport, CBD, & heading to the outskirts. Sue was kind enough to show us around the home even when we arrived late. There is large backyard, & a nice patio with a large bbq. We highly recommend staying here. Only short fall was the internet was slow.
Beautiful and comfortable home
This is my second stay at the Moray Street Home in New Farm. The house is immaculate with added care and attention. The owners ensure that there are basic supplies, condiments, milk, cereal, coffee pod etc. the patio is a great place to have a cigar, a wee dram of Scotch and good conversation.
A short walk brings you to cafes and restaurants and all other needed services.
I will always attempt to stay at this home when ever I need to spend time in Brisbane!!!
Thank you Bruce.
You are more than welcome to stay again anytime you choose.

Thank you Dean. You are more than welcome to stay again anytime.
