Home to the iconic Three Sisters, Katoomba is at the heart of the spectacular world heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park, Australia. Only 90 minutes by car or two hours by train from Sydney, Katoomba and its surrounding areas offer breathtaking walks, rich heritage, great restaurants and pubs with wrap-around views.
This house is close to both the town centre and the scenery - from the house it's only a 10 minute walk to the vibrant Katoomba town centre; as well as only a 10 minute walk to the world renowned Three Sisters and Echo Point, and an easy stroll to Scenic World where you can catch the glass-floored Scenic Skyway high above the valley.
The panoramic Echo Point is a gateway to many great walks, from the easy pathway that leads out to the Three Sisters to the more challenging Giant Stairway which leads you down almost 1,000 stairs to the valley below. The breathtaking Prince Henry Cliff walk connects Echo Point to Leura Cascades and takes you past many scenic lookouts along the cliff edge. Lyrebird Dell walking track from nearby Leura leads to a cave site of Aboriginal significance before arriving at Pool of Siloam.
Adventure tours that operate in the area will have you abseiling, rock climbing, canyoning, and bushwalking in stunning wilderness.
The Katoomba area is also rich with both natural and cultural history. Discover Aboriginal Cave art on the Red Hands Walk near Springwood, or visit The Blue Mountains Heritage Centre for 'Outside In' - an interpretative exhibition on the heritage of the Grose Valley. The centre also offers expert advice on Blue Mountains National Park, gifts and maps.
Katoomba is renowned for its art galleries and quality antique shops. You will also find many intimate restaurants and bars nestled in historic venues through the Katoomba area. Just a short stroll from the house is the Darley's Restaurant, situated in the century-old Lilianfels House, where you can enjoy fine dining. The iconic 1904 Hydro Majestic serves meals with a spectacular view of Megalong Valley.
