About wendy farley
My partner Richard and I love outdoor pursuits like bushwalking, birdwatching and camping as well as the joys that inner city living provide – good food and cultural activities. Our children are all raised and have left the nest and we found ourselves ready for the next thing. Taking over this lovely Victorian terrace in Tasmania just might be it.
wendy farley purchased this Townhouse in 2017
Why wendy farley chose Launceston
Who can resist a beautiful old terrace house? We couldn't.
What makes this Townhouse unique
It's a beautiful historic home with great proportions – and enough mod cons to make it really comfortable. No aircon needed because the thick stone walls of the house keep it cool in summer. Launceston can be cold in winter though – so we provide cosy winter heating.

Family get together
We were all very comfortable and enjoyed the central location
Neat and clean very central
Great location, easily walk to many Launceston attractions.
Nice spacious house in the middle of town
Only stayed one day but very well equipped and large airy rooms - fresh bread and milk on arrival a nice touch.
For younger families there are lots of toys and games for children.
Parking at the back of the property with round level access via backdoor
If arriving at night make sure you have a light to read the key safe at the front door but otherwise no other problems or snags.
Note there are ear plugs left on the mantelpiece in the ground floor bedroom closest to the main road if you're sensitive to traffic noise. If you live in a major city the noise levels are not excessive.
We found Design Tasmania gallery and shop well worth a visit in Tamar Street.
Would also recommend the Launceston Club for lunch if you have reciprocal membership to go visit. Staff there are super helpful and accommodating.
Pinot Shop wine merchants was also recommended to us and we picked up some Tasmanian Whisky there. Large selection and could park outside.
Would have liked to visit longer in Launceston and surrounding area so if we return will try and stay here again.
Host was most helpful and let us leave our car in the back yard after check out time so we could look around Launceston.in the day time.
Also visited Tasmania Zoo on the way back to the Devonport Ferry - Tasmanian Devil feeding time and petting was a highlight.
Great place to stay
Fantastic house ... groovy kitchen!
Pitty the fire station is just around the corner and they had a busy night.
Beds were very comfortable and the house was warm.
We would highly recommend it.
Thank you Amanda. I'm glad you loved the house. Sorry about the fire station activity - it must have been an unusual night as it isn't often an issue.
