About this property

UNIQUE Home with lots of hardwood throughout, lofted carpeted bedroom with queen size bed, pellet stove in great room, full kitchen , full bath. A second open sleeping area ( not a private bedroom ) with full size bed is on first floor. Sleeps 2 or 4 in beds. ( Plus 1 on Futon upon request.) Situated on 18 acres is the house, orchards, woods and ponds. Free to explore the entire estate. Excellent for bird watching or wildlife viewing.

Peach, Pear and Apple Orchard on Ashland and Wayne county border. Small hobby orchard surrounded by woods and farm land. 1.5 acre stocked pond with pavilion and fire pit. Also have a fire pit in the fenced back yard. Mowed hiking paths around property can be used for bird and wildlife watching :Deer, Turkey, Woodcock, Pheasant ,Rabbit.

Fishing can be done without a license. Bring your own equipment. Firepit with wood is provided. (Two mountain bikes and/or axe throwing upon advance notice). Corn hole , horseshoes, board games, puzzles available.

We accept most pets. We reserve the right to accept or decline pets based on breed and weight. You are renting the original part of our building. You can add the rear addition building with two bedrooms and second bath , and second kitchen. In all can sleeps up to 10 /12 in 3 bedrooms plus the 2nd floor common room. PLEASE NOTE WHOLE HOUSE WITH FIRST FLOOR ENTRY CAN BE AVAILABLE AT ADDITIONAL COST TO GIVE YOU EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE ENTIRE PROPERTY. (See HA 9136298 for pictures of the rear rental. )

This is a great place to host a small meeting , family reunion, small wedding party.

Surrounded by other orchards, soybean and corn fields. Great views of sunrises and sunsets. 15 minutes north to Ashland via 89 to 250; 15 minutes east to Wooster via 89 to 30; 15 minutes south to Loudonville via 89 to 95 to 60; 20 minutes west to Mansfield via 89 to 30. 3 wineries and 3 golf courses within 15 to 20 minutes. 25 minutes to Snow Trail ski resort.

We have good well water but we stock spring and bottled water for our guests. Heating is natural gas forced air. Very comfortable throughout not drafty. Nice natural light during the day and well lite interior at night.

Archery Hunting on a limited basis can be arranged. Our deer season is Oct. through Jan. Call to discuss. Possible of leasing other property in the area available for hunting.

Nice place to stay

The home itself was lovely. Very well done and great space. It wasnt an issue during our stay but there is no air conditioning in the home. Just fans. So just an FYI. We rented this place to explore the land and fish at the pond. We were disappointed that the paths were not mowed and were quite tall with weeds. The pond had very limited access to fish and the pavilion was cluttered. The orchards were beautiful and the trees were full of apples. Just wish the paths and pond had been better. Great communication with the owner. We left a day early due to the paths and ponds, as that is what we had planned to do with our time. Overall the home is a spacious, quiet getaway. Close to Mohican Stake Park and Charles Mills Park.

Quiet cozy beautiful

My family and I stayed for the weekend. Had a great time at the fire making s’mores, cooking out and fishing. The stay was relaxing and refreshing we will definitely be back thank you.

Peaceful and relaxing

We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay. LOVED the stocked pond which is where we spent most of our time! Our dog and our grandson both had a blast running on the property! Would definitely stay again.

We have been running the orchard since 2003. Apples, Peaches, Pears. We sell some on site but we also do the local farmers markets. We spray very little as we practice Integrated Pest Mgmt. Do not want to wipe out the local beneficial insects. Crazy weather lead to a poor fruit crop in 2019 so we decided to open this as new revenue stream. Please email or call with questions. The whole house (front and rear ) can be available to be rented for family reunions, small weddings, Thanksgiving , Christmas. You will have room for 10 to 12 guests with two full kitchens. Complete privacy if you book the entire property. PLEASE NOTE WHOLE HOUSE OFTEN AVAILABLE AT ADDITIONAL COST TO GIVE YOU EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE ENTIRE PROPERTY.

We are a small orchard with roots dating back to 1938. Wooster is 15 minutes east off US Route 30 and Mansfield is 20 minutes west. Charles Mill Lake west 10 minutes has a beach, swimming, boat rental , fishing, disc golf. Two 18 hole golf courses: Mohican Hills 5 minutes, Deer Ridge 20 minutes. We have prime deer hunting all around us. Tallmadge Pheasant Farm minutes away. Amish area of Berlin and Walnut Creek 45 minutes to the southeast. Hiking at Funk Area Wildlife Area & Killbuck Marsh 15 minutes SW. Der Dutch Restaurant and Deer Ridge Golf are 20 minutes southwest. Just west of there is Mid Ohio Racetrack. In Winter it is 24 miles to Snow Trails . We have a full set of brochures for local attractions at the house. We are 15 to 20 minutes from Wooster, Ashland, Loudonville, Mansfield. Little town of Hayesville 4 miles west New Grocery/Deli plus Wine and Beer, Ice Cream, Pizza . Has outdoor patio. Hayesville Opera House. Jeromesville just north on 89 has small market with bait, Pizza Shop, Legion, 24 hour gas. Lincoln Way Vineyards Friday night music & food truck 5 miles east. The Escape Rooms in both Ashland and Wooster open Fr1/Sat./Sunday.

Malabar Farm S.P. is 20 minutes to the south. We highly recommend a visit here . Louis Bromfield "Father of sustainable farming" hence I named after Malabar Farm as we strive to treat the land with respect. Also where Humphrey Bogart married Lauren Bacall. Nice visitor center. Horseback riding near Mohican State Park

Film buffs, the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield is where 'The Shawshank Redemption' was filmed. Guided and Self-guided tours available. Inmate Confessions chronicle what prisoners experienced. For Bird Watchers , Cool Spring Conservation Park #2159 CR 37 near Funk.

What makes this property unique

In the immediate Jeromesville / Mohicanville area, we have an 18 hole course at Mohican Hills and bird hunting at Tallmadge Pheasant Hunting Preserve. The oldest and largest Sycamore Tree in N. America in just up the road for any tree huggers. We have Amish living and working in the area so buggies along SR. 89 are common site. We press apples cider on Wednesday with the Amish from early Sept. to late Nov. Great local winery has their events on Facebook : Lincoln Way Vineyards.

You are welcome to roam my 18 acres. Bring your boots and gloves if you want to pitch in . Always trees to be pruned, fencing to mend, fire piles to burn. I have allowed a lot of area to grow wild for wildlife. Excellent bird watching. There are some spots you can walk with sneakers, but if you want to explore boots recommended. Please do not climb trees , or touch bee hives. There is a fire pile area where you can have a fire. Only use wood that is found there. You can fish for free in the pond for largemouth bass , crappie, and blue gill. No guns allowed to be discharged on the property. I can offer archery hunts from late Sept. until late Jan. with overnight stays only. Axe throwing lessons are available upon check in when request at time of booking.

Peaceful easy feeling. It can be so quiet your ears will hurt. At night you will amazed at the sounds of nature. Did I mention the big sky? Awesome sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. The stars at night can be outstanding . We are at 3rd or 4th highest elevation in Ohio. Fall colors are spectacular. Crops are in full color in late Sept. Tree color peak around 15th of October. Peach trees turn yellow then orange. In spring time peach trees bloom first in mid April. Pink flowers actually come before the leaves. Apples bloom second in early May with white flowers after leaves are out. In June surrounding farms planted and you can watch corn /soybean grow.
