Why Lake Roosevelt Enterprise, Inc. Owned and managed by Steve & LaVonne Grimes chose Fruitland
This is our forever home! We could have lived anywhere, but choose to live next to Lake Roosevelt National Park. When you see the pictures, you will know why. We travel a lot and it seemed like a waste have this amazing property empty on the times we were away.
What makes this House unique
This property provides true privacy. Originally, our 9+ acres were part of a total homestead of 440 acres, it is still mostly undeveloped and underutilized. Not to mention... beautiful.

Secluded getaway in a stunning location
Our family had a great time at Steve & LaVonne’s property. The lake beaches are beautiful, and there were very few people on the water despite Labor Day weekend. The house is clean, well equipped, with super comfy beds and well-stocked kitchen. We badly missed a dining table though (only a tall narrow bar with stools is available), for family meals and games. There is no AT&T signal, and if you loose power, like we did for several hours in one morning, you might feel a bit stranded, the property is very remote. I highly recommend a 4W drive to navigate the steep gravel roads. The (hefty) damage deposit was returned shortly after our stay.
Thanks for your review! We are super proud of our forever home with the Ohana Duplex style rental!
We contemplated when remodeling the lower unit whether or not to enlarge the kitchen to fit a dining table, but opted for the 3rd bedroom instead. The outdoor patio set seats 6 and we decided that it would be sufficient for most travelers.
We ARE remote and secluded and about 2 miles down a county maintained gravel road. 4WD is definitely needed in the winter, but I drive a Toyota Celica (2WD) and have never had an issue with any local road or driveway and we use the roads daily. Unless you are towing a big heavy boat, I do not see the need to recommend a 4WD.
Since you were here, we have installed a Verizon cell phone booster, and Verizon IS the only dependable cell phone service here at the house.
Thanks for telling us the damage deposit was steep. I have just reduced it and for the record, have NEVER kept a penny for damages ever. We have the greatest renters!!! Have a great day!
Peaceful camping but with the luxury of a cabin!
This is just what my family had in mind for “camping”. To be way out from civilization, with the peace and quiet that nature can offer, but I’m a total baby about not having a comfortable bed and full kitchen! You rent the basement of the owners cabin, but they leave when you stay. The owner met us there and briefly gave us some helpful info then left us to be. She was very helpful and nice. The beds were very comfy!! The view of Lake Roosevelt from the living room is breathtaking! I’m a germaphobe and this place met my cleanliness standards. We spent most of our days at the beach, which is a 10 minute hike down. Where else can you find a place to swim on a private beach? Now, there are three beaches (I was told), and the better two were taken by campers. The one available was fine but I didn’t realize how bad the bees were! They weren’t agressive or anything and I think only two of us got stung. It was just kind of annoying but certainly nothing the owner can do about that. We went in mid July so I didn’t think the bees would have been bad yet. We floated out on some air mattresses we brought and the bees didn’t bother us on the water. Overall I was very happy to “camp” and not be disturbed by noisy neighboring campers and we will consider returning but might bring a screen tent so we can eat at the beach without getting too bothered by the bees!
Thanks for your review! I am very proud of our little piece of Heaven. Thanks for mentioning the comfy beds. I'm all about a great night's sleep, a real kitchen to prepare the day's meals so we can..... stay at the beach.... all... day... long.
Beautiful Views in a Comfortable, Peaceful Setting
We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay at this clean, lovely home. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds extremely comfortable. You could tell that our hosts wanted to make us feel at home and Lavonne was very helpful in the booking process and was extreamly friendly and welcoming. The beach was beautiful and we spent our days swimming and relaxing. We will definitely be back.
Thank you for the lovely review of our vacation rental. We are always happy to answer questions for our renters. Emailing us through the VRBO website shows up as a text message on our phones, and we try very hard to respond to all inquiries right away. (Steve responds to the fishing related inquiries.) We have discovered that many people inquire about VRBO rentals in late evenings. We are typically early to bed.... early to rise, but we ALWAYS respond if we are up.
Wonderful place to vacation!
We immensely enjoyed our stay. The house is clean and nicely updated, and the owners are friendly and welcoming. There is a beautiful view of Lake Roosevelt from the property; each bedroom and the living room have large windows with a view of the lake. There is a great sandy beach a short drive away that we enjoyed spending the days at. The hospitality of the owners was wonderful - they made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, and encouraged us to reach out if we had questions or needed anything. We are already looking forward to staying here again!
As someone that is personally addicted to the sandy beaches in Hawaii, I bought this property, because of the quick access to the best beaches on Lake Roosevelt. Unless you have walked these beaches yourself, you would not believe that Washington State has soft sandy beaches that rival Hawaii beaches.... at 1/10 the cost.
The quiet, beautiful and remote vacation that was much needed!
This was the second time (and second year in a row) we've stayed at this gem of a getaway! It is a place that allows you to unwind from the busy city life! Steve and LaVonne have created such a beautifully decorated, comfortable home that is nice and cool in the hot summer! The beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchen is stocked with just about everything you could want/need (and LaVonne has made sure that the pancake mix is full and ready for you!), and the place feels like a home away from home. While the home is not located on the water, it is a short half mile (or less) drive down the hill and a short walk through a fun trail to get to a couple of amazing beaches. Our kids love the adventure of the hike and the fun that is had at the beach and in the water. And even though the home is not located on the water, the views of the lake (and wild life that visit!) are absolutely gorgeous and amazing. We have brought our wakeboard boat both years - there is plenty of parking at the residence for your vehicle and boat (although the launch is a bit of a drive, it is well worth it to stay here). We cannot wait for our next visit!!
Thanks for the great review! Yes! The visiting wildlife is a big part of the adventure in staying here. We have a mama deer that has twins each spring, and she will look right in the window at you. Also, the gobbling of the turkeys.... I have grown to love that sound, thankfully, they roost in the trees at night.... leaving just the crickets and amazing star filled sky. Absolutely no LIGHT pollution out here, so you can see stars like no where else!
Beautiful views and wonderful hospitality
Stayed here with our family for my mom's birthday weekend. Wonderful hospitality from the owners. Property is beautiful, they have done a wonderful job with the rental space. We have been camping around Roosevelt for years and this stay was by far the best location, views, and beach access! We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again in the future.
When it comes to quality time with family... this is the place. I'm thrilled you feel the same way. We are looking forward to having you again. LaVonne & Steve
