Terrible Experience
Here’s my experience:
1. There is a Pitbull which occasionally paces around the property without a leash. I was concerned about this and asked the host if I need to be worried about the dog biting me, and the host responded with, “He hasn’t bit anybody in three years.”
2. The back door where the kitchen area is has a chain around it. That’s to keep the pit out which also creates a safety issue.
3. The house is located next to a very busy street. Walk times to the Marina are 20 minutes. Not five like the original add stated. In addition, the host updated the original profile of the “new” home to the pictures of the actual home.
4. The home is also extremely loud due to backyard concerts, dogs barking, vehicles, people throwing rocks, I will never visit Quepos again. I’m genuinely concerned about my safety which is why I left this home and headed back to the USA five days earlier than anticipated; the host seemed to begin and take a hostile approach to make sure I paid the $200 electric bill.

a. The host also has an account on another popular hosting webservice. So, please make sure you research that.
b. This link was successful in the bait and switch scam. The “new” property I booked with profile pictures updated after check-in, which means when you report a fraudulent listing the profile data will flow downstream and update. That will make the pictures match and you look like a liar.
c. The third link to VRBO's website included a duplicate listing.
