About this property

Overlooking the Huon River, between Huonville and Geeveston, Tasmania, is a comfortable little farmhouse. Huon River Country Cottage offers convenience and privacy. Immersed in a pretty cottage garden in a rural landscape with views through the native treeline to the Huon River below. The adjacent pastures are dotted with farm animals by day and native visitors by night.

Two queen bedrooms plus one study/single bedroom make this a great holiday base for a couple, 2 singles or a small family. Workers, tradies, parties or pets are not allowed. Base price includes 2 people using ONE bed. If you need and extra bed, be sure to book an extra person.

Access is via keybox. We only send keycode to you directly ( not via Stayz/HomeAway message system ) so be sure that you have access to your emails and/or texts.

Please note: This is a short term holiday house that suits singles, couples or small groups visiting friends and relatives or for pleasure. Workers, parties or pets are not permitted.

Telstra and Optus mobile phone networks work well at this location, so you can get internet connection via WiFi hotspot from your own mobile phone.

Lovely house in a lovely part of the world

We were impressed with the items available in the kitchen, especially the number of crockery and cutlery items. The log fire was very appreciated and utilised as the weather was much colder than we had expected (and colder than some locals expected). The beds are comfy. The linen is lovely, was beautifully laid out on arrival and plenty of it. What we did find was that the bedrooms were cold. We noticed the vents for ducted air con / heating but quickly realised the heat pump is in the living area only. While there were heaters in each bedroom they were of no benefit, so we did not waste electricity by switching them on. We found identifying the driveway and access to the property difficult. M We ended up using road signage as landmarks. We enjoyed watching the sheep and the variety of birds from the windows along with the ever changing weather over the river (no arguments when it came to who was going to wash up). Overall we enjoyed our stay at Huon Country Cottage.

Castle Forbes Bay

Lovely little 3 bedroom cottage has a lovely homely inviting feeling. A few very minor problems were swiftly dealt with by the owner. My only complaint is it says 2 bathrooms however in the very fine print this is clarified as 1 bathroom and toilet in the laundry which is located outside of the main house and has a toilet seat you wouldn't want to use. This was very disappointing as two single people travelling.

So beautiful!

The scent of roses, honey suckle and lemon blossom greets you as soon as you walk in the front gate. Open, bright kitchen overlooking the beautiful cottage garden and Castle Forbes Bay. Fireplace set for your arrival, comfy beds, and fantastic laundry facilities. Beautiful Franklin and Geeveston minutes away. Access to the bay immediately opposite the property. Very hard to leave! We will be back!
