About this property

4BR|Mountain Views|Hot Tub, Firepit|Hiking

Summary:
On a hillside in the mountains west of Colorado Springs, on the northern flank of Pikes Peak, “America’s Mountain,” this mid-mod mountain home offers views (of course), peace, tranquility, comfort & unequivocal, outright mountain charm! With 4 BDRMs, a hot tub, an open living concept with walls of windows, a modern, stylish kitchen, a lower level den and pool table and an upper-level wrap-around deck with fire-table — this home is an absolute stand-out.

The Space:
Some mountain homes in this area sacrifice accessibility … this one does not! It’s easy to get to and just off main roads, and the driveway’s not too steep in winter. Park in the private driveway and approach the home from the front, up the stairs and onto the upper level deck. You’ll immediately be drawn to the outdoor living space here. The deck is extensive, and offers incredible views of the mountains across the valley and of course, the clear Colorado sky. There’s a large open space on the deck to the right, with plenty of outdoor seating for your friends and family, and notably an enticing fire-table ready to give off some warmth and light on a cool Colorado night spent under the endless stars.

You’ll enter the home through the front door using the private electronic keycode provided to you at check-in. Immediately, you’ll enter into a welcoming, bright, fashionable space influenced by the owner’s mid-century modern aesthetic. It’s almost like an episode of “Mad Men” … only in the mountains (and without the cigarettes)! There’s a working, functional wood-burning fireplace for the winter months built into a locally-sourced flagstone hearth. The knotty-pine wood paneling and hardwood flooring and the cow-skin area rug give the space an obvious, natural feel — as do the incredible views of the pine and spruce trees and rocky hillsides streaming through the massive picture windows from almost all directions.

Further in you’ll be attracted to the open kitchen and dining space. The cabinets are also knotty-pine. The counters are black stone and the appliances are stainless steel. The space, the massive gas range, and the dining room table with seating for six all invite the most ambitious of culinary creations. It’s a comfortable setup designed to please, designed to entertain.

Two of the home’s four bedrooms are on this upper level. The master bedroom features a comfortable king bed, and there’s a queen in the second bedroom. All of the beds are appointed in hotel-quality linens, professionally cleaned and laundered after every stay. This home is managed professionally by a vacation rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care here worthy of your five-star review! These two bedrooms are serviced by a large, single bathroom with dual sinks and quality tile in the counter and shower.

Head downstairs for something special … a living room space as cozy as a bear’s den (there are plenty around here … please don’t leave any garbage outside overnight)! The big leather furniture invites some time spent relaxing in front of the TV, and the pool-table begs a match … all in front of an attractive, natural, stone hearth fireplace. There’s two more bedrooms down here featuring a king and a queen bed, and an additional bathroom too, clean and ready for business. The full laundry available for guest use on this level tops out the theme of practical but aesthetic, functional and spacious but also modern and charming and sure-to-please. We will send you detailed instructions no less than 48 hours prior to your arrival after you complete our verification portal. You will have privacy and access to the entire house using your special code given upon booking. Front door has a digital smart lock.

Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities, and that extends to every facet of your stay, including our hot tub. To keep it in optimal condition, we have a professional hot tub technician visit our property once a week. This maintenance visit, usually lasting about an hour, ensures that the hot tub is kept clean, functional, and ready for your enjoyment throughout your stay.

Rest assured, these visits are designed to be non-intrusive. The technician only needs access to the outdoor area and will not disturb your indoor privacy. We schedule these sessions to ensure minimal disruption to your relaxation and aim to provide you with a seamless, top-notch experience.

The Neighborhood:
For those who like to explore the outdoors, you’ve found the perfect spot. The mid-mod mountain home is a stone’s throw away from a number of hiking and biking trails leading deeper into the Rocky Mountains. Being down the road from the famous Pikes Peak Highway, and close to the North Pole amusement park, provides endless entertainment for family members big and small. The mountain community of Cascade has a quaint local culture, with local shops, a winery, and tasty favorites like the Mucky Duck serving up home-style cuisine. Whisky-lovers shouldn’t miss the Black Bear distillery, or the Blue Moose Tavern, a local pub.

Just down the highway are two must-visit areas in Colorado Springs: Old Colorado City and Downtown. The historic centre offers exceptional restaurants, bars, artisan shops, galleries, cafes, street festivals and more. On your way downtown, stop by popular attractions such as Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, and Red Rock Canyon. Although just 15 minutes west of Colorado Springs, this location offers a true mountain experience with more urban trappings close by — truly the best of both worlds!

Amazing Experience
The pictures do not do this place justice. The place is gorgeous. Beautiful scenary, the home was much nicer than expected. It is so comfortable we didnt want to leave to go out and explore the town. There were deer on the property 2 of the days we were there. The hot tub was amazing. We fully enjoyed the basement and pool table. The views from the house were breathtaking. There are 4 spacious bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms. Its was just my hubby and I this trip. We are coming back with our sons asap! I highly recommend this home.

Nice Cabin/ Location
We really enjoyed our stay here. Nicely kept cabin, clean, comfortable beds beautiful views. My only complaint is that the pricing is deceptive. I’m not sure if VRBO or the owners are in control of the pricing, but the advertised nightly rate was less than half of the total cost of the actual stay. For 2 nights we were charged a $389 ‘Additional Charges’ fee. There’s also a fee for the hot tub for $104 for the stay. I understand some additional cleaning fees/ taxes etc, but fees should not add up to double the cost of lodging.
