NEW PORTABLE A/C UNITS IN BOTH BEDROOMS!

Below you will find details about our 2 bed/ 2 bath vacation home, Beach 'n Bay Getaway.

Experience San Diego like a local and stay at our retreat in the laid back area of South Mission Beach. This vacation home invites you to slow down and relax with it's tranquil driftwood color vinyl plank flooring and contemporary wood decor. Located just a couple blocks south of the Belmont Amusement Park and only 100 steps from the sand and surf, this condo is central to everything San Diego. In January of 2021, a full remodel was completed. The living room has a flat screen TV and a sofa that opens into a full size bed. The fully equipped kitchen is open to the living room and convenient for cooking and eating meals at home. The breakfast dining table seats 4 but can expand open to seat 6, has a ceiling fan above and is the perfect spot to enjoy your coffee and plan your day.

The bedrooms have comfortable, new mattresses (king and queen) with warm accents to make you feel snug at home. The bathrooms are bright in classic white. The master bedroom has a bathroom en suite with a shower/ tub combination and the vanity is just outside of the bathroom door. The second bathroom has a walk-in shower.

Unwind on the private balcony after a day at the beach or grill up some dinner on the electric grill provided. The balcony table seats 2 but can open to seat 4. Lights are strung above for a festive atmosphere. Parking for 1 car in the garage but there is a public parking lot adjacent to this building with free 7/24 parking. Other amenities include 2 beach chairs, 2 paddle boards, 2 boogie boards, sand toys for kids, and beach towels. There is a coin-op laundry room on the first floor to wash out all those salty clothes!

On warmer days, there is a portable a/c unit in each bedroom!

The convenient location is 2 miles from SeaWorld, 3 miles from Old Town, and just 7-9 miles from the Gaslamp District, Little Italy, and the world famous San Diego Zoo in lovely Balboa Park. Come enjoy all San Diego has to offer along with the best weather in the nation!

Vacation rentals in San Diego are for the most part, second homes for the owners and this one is no exception. Therefore, some furniture or decor may differ from what is pictured because the owners needed or wanted to replace something. Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. (*Please note: We do not give refunds because a piece of furniture or artwork has changed)

*NOTE: This home is in a residential neighborhood and, as such, is a NOISE SENSITIVE property. Respect must be shown for the property and neighbors at all times. No loud music, parties, and or loud talking outside after 9 pm. Violation of these rules MAY result in immediate eviction from the property per your rental agreement, and/or fines from the San Diego Police. Please review your rental agreement for complete details and rules about your home!

It is important for you to read all the details about your property. We highlight everything you need to know about your vacation rental in our listing, through emails, some home manuals, in-home signage and phone correspondence. We want our guests to feel prepared, informed and at ease while staying with us. We are always available if you have questions!

Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. We will also contact you within 24 hours of the booking to obtain contact information and to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your upcoming visit along with the House Rules & Rental Agreement. The check-in details will not be shared until the rental agreement has been signed.

Attention Guests: In addition to completing our electronic rental agreement, you will also be required to participate in our identity verification process. The service is offered through Autohost; an intelligent guest screening software that automates ID verifications, background and credit checks, security deposits and more, helping to improve guest experience and safety. Please note: for the credit card verification, a $2 hold will be placed on the card to run the report. This hold will never process and will fall off automatically within 7 days. Please contact us with any questions.

If you have never stayed in a vacation rental before, we are not a hotel, WE ARE BETTER! We offer many of the same luxuries of a hotel with the comfort and space of home to share with your whole family. Our property owners are our friends and we work with each owner to offer a special, specific and ideal environment for guests to experience and enjoy. All of our homes offer similar amenities so you can expect the same experience whenever staying with us.

With that said, we need you to do your part in helping us maintain each home. Please be attentive to ALL RESPONSIBILITIES as a guest of our home. Trash/Recycling, Check-out duties, Communication to management and Care of the home all help us give each guest and family a home to feel at home in. We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a 'starter kit' to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store.

Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available.

While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Our emails serve to educate you on your vacation rental home, the surrounding area, responsibilities, what to expect and how to get in touch with us. We respect your privacy so our emails help provide you with all you need to know to reference as you please.

Holiday 2024 Policy:
6 night minimum AND Saturday check-in is REQUIRED during our holiday season (December 21-January 4). One reservation CANNOT take both holidays, unless it is a 2-week reservation. There are no arrivals OR departures on Christmas or New Year's Day.
*An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!

Summer 2024 Policy:
Beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday is required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2024, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you.

Last Minute Booking Policy:
If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.

To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.

This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

Nightly Minimum Policy:
4 night minimum required in the off season. 6 nights AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option.

Arrival/Departure Policy:
Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From Memorial Day through Labor Day, check-in is at 4pm)
Check out time is 11 am.

Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call!

Pet Policy: This property allows dogs. Please note: a pet fee of $200 plus tax for the first pet, and $150 plus tax for second pet. Please contact us to have your pet(s) approved.

Mission beach
The location was great. It is walking distance to beach, bay, theme park, restaurants and more. The place itself was ok. The couch and chairs in living room are uncomfortable. The beds were comfy. There is no ac but because it’s on a busy street we often had to have windows closed and it was hot. The place has a musty smell. We enjoyed the location but will choose a different place for future travel to the area.

The place is cute but we only made it 40 hours of our 6 day stay before we got up and left. The unit is so loud. The street noise combined with all day construction made it impossible to open the windows day or night and we were unable to sleep. Not being able to open the paper thin windows made it unbearably hot inside the unit as well. There is only 1 TV and it is in the common room. However the couch there is so old and worn you feel metal when sitting on it so you don't enjoy watching TV there. I can say the large king bed was comfortable, but the inability to sleep negated any benefit. We have stayed all over Mission Beach over the past 30 years and have never, ever had an experience like this. This was a HUGE loss of money and a complete disappointment. To make matter worse, the management company somehow mixed up renter names and info and even after we cleared this up over the phone, continued to reach out to us by the WRONG NAME. I do not recommend this property and have never left a negative review before and while I feel badly about it, I want to save others from making a costly mistake like we did.

Great location - but noisy
Great location but as others have stated it’s very noisy being right on Mission. Short drive to all key spots and short walk to beach. Couch/futon needs to be replaced right away. It’s old, extremely uncomfortable and dirty. Basically unusable. This place should be listed as max 4.
