Great house and location, terrible host
Our family of 5 stayed here for 6 nights. The house is in a great location and is well set up for a family of 5 to relax and enjoy. Despite it being -19C° outside we were toasty and warm in the house. It's an easy walk to the ski lifts and even walking distance to Furano. Loved the location and the house. The experience with the host was a completely different story. I booked using my work email address which I realised afterwards I couldn't access (due to work security measures) overseas or forward emails on. I informed the host 5 mths before our trip of this and gave them an alternate email. Never heard anything from them, in the days before arriving in an attempt to get check in information I sent them numerous emails, many messages via the Stayz and Vrbo app, rang the contact no. at least a dozen times ( just cuts out), even Stayz couldn't contact them for us. So we travelled to Furano hoping the house would be unlocked. Luckily it was so we spent a week in a house without a key. When we went out our passports, laptop etc were left in an unlocked house. Not really that big a deal but I was mindful that if the gas ran out or we had a problem we had no way of contacting anyone for help. The house is hosted by a business rather than a landlord so when I emailed them I was just sent generic email responses rather than anything helpful.
