Well stocked cute woodsy cabin
The pros: This cabin was a lovely space to spend a long weekend on the Sunshine Coast. It is well stocked with everything you could possibly want, with all the kitchen essentials and then some (e.g. the basics like knives, cutting boards, pots & pans to little luxuries like a milk frother and full tea + spice pantry). Bath & shower were both filled with luxurious soaps and shampoos + the pleasant surprise of herbal tinctures and oils. Bedroom was cozy and bed was very comfortable. There are wonderful details throughout that make it clear the owners have thought the vacation vibe through: heating lamp, bubble & string lights throughout, nice speaker, board games and cozy blankets and cushions. I loved that there was no TV. The single con: I give minus one star for the bathroom. From the photos of the kitchen, I assumed that the closet door there was a kitchen pantry; however, it's the bathroom. It's very open and airy.. which means that any sounds and smells readily travel to the kitchen and living space! My partner and I joked that it's good we've been together for so long it's not too big of a deal anymore... but it might be a bit too 'intimate' for any first-time vacation couples! :'-) This also means you may need to time your body a bit to avoid cooking and nature's call at the same time... We let the place air out a bit before cooking. This is also a heads up that the bathroom is not connected to the bedroom, so you will need to exit the bedroom to use the bathroom at night. Location: The area is very peaceful. We heard a wonderful variety of birds. I'm sure there are bears about, but we saw no sign of any, as the property is very clean and clear of any potential bear attractants. This cabin is not on the lake but within a short walking distance. In terms of exploring the Sunshine Coast, it's about a 35-40 minute drive to Sechelt; 30-35 mins to Skookumchook. We explored up and down the Sunshine Coast from here, but the people who will make the absolute best use of this cabin's location are those who wish to just be lazy and relaxed on the lake for a few days. Be aware that there are steep stairs between the parking & the cabin if you are not able-bodied. All in all a wonderful weekend abode, 4/5 stars.
