About this property
Mornin' Sunshine - Modern Luxury in the Forest
Mornin' Sunshine is the perfect getaway for couples and small families. Stylish and current design, yet totally warm and inviting. Set on a heavily wooded lot that gets amazing breezes from across the valley, we named Mornin' Sunshine after the stunning sunrises that flood the cabin with natural light.
"This is the most beautiful and thoughtfully curated vacation home I’ve ever stayed in. Everything we needed and wanted was stocked— from an abundant supply of coffee to firewood and more. Our host was incredibly responsive and informative. His guide to the area was perfect—every recommendation was flawless! I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay."
Living Spaces
Walk in the front door and you’ll know this cabin is different. Lots of windows fill the space with light. White shiplap walls, warm, rustic floors and ceilings, and furnishings that make you want to stay and relax. There’s a queen size pullout couch for the kids, with crisp percale cotton sheets to keep them comfy. The kitchen is gorgeous – custom painted cabinets, quartz countertops, black stainless appliances and matte black sink and faucet all exude quality. The tile backsplash pulls it all together perfectly.
Coffee is a priority for us, so there is a Keurig, a drip maker, a french press, and a cold brew maker. The rest of the kitchen is thoroughly stocked. The dining room table is a perfect gathering spot for playing the great selection of board games.
Bedroom
The Serta Hybrid king mattress and crisp percale cotton bedding will lure you in. Little touches like reading lamps, built-in USB chargers, and super cozy blankets just add to the experience. The blue double doors to the deck hint at what waits you outside. There’s a tv with cable mounted above the dresser.
Bathroom
The bathroom is awesome. Soaking tub, huge curbless shower with two heads, and a beautiful custom vanity will make you want to remodel. The tile floor is stunning. The fullsize washer/dryer, iron, and handheld steamer will let you pack light.
Outside Amenities
The decks were hugely important in the design of all our cabins. The front deck is the perfect spot for watching the sunrise and sunsets over the valley. The bar stools out there are favorite coffee and cocktail spots. The back deck has everything we thought you’d want at a cabin: a cozy sitting area by the fireplace and TV, a dining table overlooking the woods, an awesome hot tub with privacy, and a Weber grill tied into our underground propane tank so you never run out of gas.
Steps off the deck is a cool fire pit made of stones from the lot, surrounded with Polywood Adirondack chairs. Firewood is always free and plentiful. The half circle driveway is ideal for a trailer – so be sure to bring your boat or UTV.
Location
Mornin’ Sunshine is in Hochatown – about 20 minutes north of Broken Bow – and is the area that most people are referring to when they say “Broken Bow”.
The Mountain Fork Brewery, Grateful Head Pizza, and lots of our other favorite restaurants are right down the road. The cabin is about a half mile west of the main road 259, just past the Carson Creek entrance to the State Park – a perfect place for accessing Broken Bow Lake. It’s also the perfect gateway to all that hiking, biking and exploring that awaits in the Ouachita National Forest. Once you book, we'll send you a link to a cool App we've developed that should answer any questions you have about the cabin, and provides a dining and activity guide to Hochatown - including maps or the area.
Pets
Well mannered dogs are allowed, with a $50 pet fee.
We invite you to come see what is so special about the area that has become a happy place for us. Our cabins are all designed with our guests in mind, and we strived to think of every detail. Each of them is unique, and we encourage you to come experience all of them.

About the host
Your host

We started our cabin adventure in early 2018, when we bought four lots and decided to build 4 one-bedroom cabins - all at once. We've owned vacation homes before, and have rented many when we travel as a family. So we set out to do something different - designing these cabins as the perfect getaways for couples and small families - and using materials and finishes that weren't available in the Broken Bow area. We then outfitted them with everything that we could imagine wanting in a vacation home.
We sold one of the cabins - lot 221 - during construction to a great couple from Texas who shared our vision for how we would finish out the cabin. After many many(!) trips back and forth from Frisco, Texas, we finished all the cabins in the summer of 2019.
Having put so much of ourselves into the design and building of these cabins, we knew it would be hard to hand them off to a management company. So we started our own. Lake Life Cabins continues the theme of doing things differently. Our goal is to have the nicest one bedroom cabins in Broken Bow, and provide the best experiences for all of our guests. We invite you to come see what sets us apart.
