About this property

Glamping Bunkie Cabin Near the Cowichan River

Discover one of the sweetest secrets in the Cowichan Valley: the perfect place to unplug and unwind. Re-wild yourself in nature by exploring the region's rivers, lakes, trails, vineyards, cideries and farms.

Our glamping property is located on a very private country road that leads to the lovely Cowichan river. The Elderberry is situated at the tail end of our 6 acres, nestled against a hill surrounded by a forest of wildflowers, Maples, Pines, Cedars, and Dogwood trees. During the day, you can hear the southing sound of the Cowichan River, and at night you'll be serenaded by the local owls, and night frogs as you fall asleep in your king bed or if you're just lounging by the fire. Whether you choose to get lost in a good book, enjoy a local cider or wine on your deck after a day of exploring the Cowichan Valley, walk along the local paths or mingle at the fire pit while listening to the Cowichan River flowing below, we can ensure that the land will help put your body and mind back at ease.

The trail head for the gorgeous Glenora trial is located a short 15-20 minute walk from the property. There is also a playground for the little ones and a large pergola with picnic and BBQ amenities. Glenora Cafe is a nearby friendly full service corner store offering gas, fresh breakfast and lunch options, as well as a great selection of your last minute meal prep items.

The bath house is complete with a hot water on demand shower, composting toilet, organic shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap, to keep you comfortable and clean.

We are as low impact on the environment as possible, collecting rain water and using outdoor composting toilets. Recycling and composting are encouraged. Linens, blankets and towels are provided.

The Elderberry has no power or internet. It has heart and charm, come prepared to simply be chill. Give yourself permission to Relax, unwind, and rewild within nature!

Sweet Little Getaway
We loved staying here! It was a relaxing and comfortable little getaway! The animals wandering around were so fun too! Lots of great little places in the area to explore (i.e., Cowichan River, Zanatta Winery, Chemainus River Park). Definitely would recommend!

My wife, Paula and I co-live on these 6 acres of beautiful land with our friends & land-mates Dana and Bobby. We have an orchard of apples trees, while cherry, pear, peach, plum and fig trees litter the property. We have some hobby farm animals, including rabbits, ducks, chickens and turkeys. We are here to steward the land and share it with others that have a passion for loving life - free and simple.
