Nice quiet vacation
We enjoyed our stay but did not have enough time to explore the area. The lake water was nice and warm and the kids enjoyed the deer, chickens and guinea fowls. The hosts were very welcoming.

Best family vacation ever!!!
We came for three nights and wish it could have been three months! The minute we walked in, our family of five (13yrs, 11yrs, 11yrs) felt right at home. So clean, inviting, and everything we could have possibly needed - and then some! - was there. Kristie and Christopher are the loveliest hosts - at the ready to help, but also gave us plenty of space to enjoy their beautiful property. Swimming in the lake, paddle boarding, canoeing, fishing, walking trails, jacuzzi, tetherball, s’mores - we did it all!!! Can’t wait to go back :)

Beautiful and Peaceful Property
This is an amazing property! Fully equipped, beautiful home, well kept grounds. It was so incredibly peaceful here, and our family had a wonderful time. Host is responsive and provided anything you would need for a home away from home. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for a weekend with a group of girls and we were all amazed by how much the host had for us! Everything was so clearly labeled and it had anything we could have needed! The host was also so nice to give us some fresh eggs the property chickens laid as well as local wine! The lake was beyond serene and there was wildlife visitng us everyday ! By far the best location I have stayed at between all platforms!

10 out of 10 - Fantastic
We were visiting from Oregon, and after hosting a big family reunion in Northern Maine, where I am from, we did a sampler platter tour of New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia. The trip was amazing on each segment, but Kristie and Christopher’s farmhouse in Nova Scotia was our absolute favorite. The area itself is stunning with hitting gorgeous Mahone Bay and then heading up the road, past lake after lake before driving into the property. The photos on VRBO, which are great, somehow still do not do it justice. Loved the very stocked house, the welcome gifts our lovely hosts left us, and the entire property. We swam, we hiked, we built a fire and s’mores. Honestly, there are many rentals where we all say, “I’ll definitely be back”, and it could happen. Here, we are already looking at dates for 2025 or 2026. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. Until next time, our gracious hosts! -Kevin, Gabe, Libby and Harlow.

Incredible!
I can’t say enough about the experience we just had staying at this farmhouse. It’s so well equipped and sits on a beautiful lakefront property Surrounded by beautiful hardwood trees and walking trails. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our stay special. If you’re looking for a cozy place to stay with lots of outdoor activities, this is it. We wish we could have stayed longer. We have not booked the same vacation rental ever, but this one is worthy of booking again.

Host profile image
My husband Christopher and I have both freelanced in the film industry for many years. We have two sons, a dog, two barn cats, and a small flock of chickens and guinea fowl. We love living in Nova Scotia and are certain you will love it here too!
Christopher is also a certified ultralight instructor and is pleased to offer introductory flights for our guests at a discounted rate. He can also offer private film screenings in our Dolby certified home theater. Cinephiles will be interested in seeing the 35mm projector that he got from our local Cineplex!
Our family lives on the property in the house next door and can be available to help whenever required. Otherwise, we’ll respect your privacy so that you can enjoy the property on your own. We're happy to share our farm fresh eggs daily as available. We're unable to welcome visiting pets as they could harm or stress our chickens and cats and could be incompatible with our dog Milo.

Why they chose this property

We love the peace and tranquility here. The lake is stunning! It's spring fed, quiet and pristine! Our property is located in a dark sky zone (Bortle rating 2) which is excellent for stargazing. Wildlife is abundant. It's common to see deer snacking at various apple trees in the yard. Plus we're centrally located and within easy driving distance of many popular destinations ranging from the Annapolis Valley, the South Shore, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, etc.

What makes this property unique

It's rare to find such a large property with so much lake frontage that comes fully loaded with so many amenities! You can enjoy the private trail network, a small sandy beach, a dock to jump from or launch boats, a swim raft complete with a water slide, lifejackets and floaty toys, a canoe, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, a mini basketball court, a Springfree trampoline, tetherball, soccer, baseball, board games, books, DVD's, puzzles, picnic supplies, baby and toddler accessories, etc. Plus you can take advantage of a discounted ultralight flight on site (weather and schedule dependent) or book a complimentary private screening in our Dolby certified home theater!
