About this property

This is our lovely home by the beach. We have a love of 60's 70's retro furniture and have used this aesthetic to make the space reflect the creative Whanganui community it sits within. It is a little rough around the edges as it is an old bungalow but quite comfortable. The house looks out to uninterrupted sea views. Beach access is 2 doors down, so it's easy to pop off for a beach walk or swim whenever you want.

The house is an old bungalow that was bach and has been added to. There is a large lounge that looks out to sea. This room has a tv screen with chromecast and a fireplace.

This is our family home so please respect the objects within it. We really love art and vintage treasures and would like everyone to enjoy them so please take care.

The dining room attached to a small kitchen. The master bedroom is large and has a king sized bed, this room has a large screen and chromecast in it also.

The other bedrooms are quite small. One has a bunk bed in it and the other has a mezzanine bed in the ceiling. It is a really cute little room with ocean views but you need to be able to climb a large ladder to get to the bed so it's not suitable for small children. Please keep the door to this room shut if you have toddlers!!

There is 1 bathroom with a shower and toilet.

There is a concreted courtyard to the left of the house by the kitchen. There are some comfy outdoor couches on this side with cushions to lounge around in the sun on. In the event of rain it would be appreciated if guests could bring the cushions inside.

On Leaving the property after a 3 day stay, All 3 Adults rated it as 8 out of 10. The Location was great,the Batch Feel Fantastic, the view superb, the layout great ( all 3 of us could have our Own Area) to relax, BOTH inside & Out. Air Con coped well with 32C . The Cooking, Fridge washing Machine & Clothes line great. Parking Great , we could turn the car to drive out forwards. The only area that could have made it 10 out of 10 , was sleeping for the 3rd adult. If one of the 3 couches was a fold out bed , that would make it. Will we return - YES, YES

Spacious and private beachside spot

Well-located behind the dunes this comfortable home was surprisingly private with easy access to the beach. Allowing us to stay with our dog was a big plus.

Quirky shabby chic with awesome sea and sunset views

This is an unusual, arty and laid back holiday home with. We stayed for three nights with our teens and enjoyed the retro vibes, sunsets and wide sea views. Amenities are on the basic side and check in was tricky (online instructions had an old lockbox code) but host was responsive to our call for help.
