Hugh and Deborah have a nice little house in a pleasant suburb, and beautifully set on the shores of lake macquarie. The kitchen is well kitted with ample cooking and serving ware. There are several interesting board games and good collection of books and movies. The house was mostly clean except for a few dead cockroaches lying around. The boat ramp/pier certainly adds a nice touch to the house.
On a cold day though, it feels like the house can do with more heating! There are a couple of portable heaters, but one of them keeps turning off automatically within a few minutes and doesn't turn on again for a very long time. And if all 3 bedrooms are occupied then 2 bedrooms are practically without a heater. Out of the 3 days that we were here, on 2 days temperatures were 8-10 deg cel with cloudy skies which made the house feel quite cold.
Most furniture and bedding is average at best. All mattresses are too soft and uncomfortable.
But all things considered, its a good place for the price.
Such a beautiful pocket of the world! Highly recommend to nature and animal lovers!
Got up and close with kangaroos and many bird species.
Amazing photo opportunities!
Also Gail was an amazing host while we were staying.
Can’t wait for our next visit, thank you :)
