Lovely accommodation. Very very comfortable and well provided. Thoughtful touches everywhere. Already booked again for another visit in a few weeks time. Would definitely recommend to others. Thank you Lorrae for looking after us so well!
It was a great experience staying at Glen Wills Retreat. A feeling of isolation from the rest of the world was inevitable as you approach the property, a huge brick and timber double-story house standing strong in the middle of vast grassland surrounded by bush lands. The rustic look adds a unique character to this building while the surroundings boast of eco-friendliness.
The house was ample to accommodate us, a group consisting 23. The large living area with a long hand-crafted timber dining table and the benches around the camp fire were the most enjoyed while we gathered around in relaxation whether to sip the morning coffee or sing along over some drinks and nibbles.
The kitchen provided all and sundry to enable us to prepare our own meals while the backyard was just the place to play a game of cricket.
Even though the drive to the close by towns took a couple of hours we enjoyed some great sceneries on the way to Mount Beauty and Bright town center. Just a few kilometers down the road from Glen Wills we reached a creek along which there were campers. The clean and serene water was too cold to even get the feet wet but no sooner you fall in love with the water it will make you swim to your hearts content.
The three days of our stay was made perfect with the hospitality and friendliness we received from the owner of property, Gordon Pirie. The day we arrived Gordon joined us in songs and drinks around the camp-fire that he himself lit up for the children. For the remainder of our stay he provided guidance and advice so we make the most of our stay and visit to Glen Wills.
It is not easy to miss the notice hanged at the entrance to this vast property which says ‘no television, no mobile, no Internet, no worries’. It is the perfect get away if one dreams of a relaxed and fascinated time to cherish for life.
