BEACH COVE invites you to simply relax and enjoy the panoramic views from the wrap around verandah, perhaps a sun lounge on one of the lawns, a rug on the beach or a refreshing swim.

Arriving is easy, no need to pick up a key from anywhere, Beach Cove will be open and ready for your arrival with beds made up and everything in place for a great break. Lots of extras provided to ensure that couples, families and even pets have the best time ever!

Dangar Island is easily accessible - the local hourly ferry from Brooklyn takes 15 minutes and Beach Cove is a short walk from the Dangar Island Ferry Wharf. Alternatively, book the local Dangar Island Water Taxi from the public wharf at Brooklyn to drop you off on the beach at Beach Cove on high tide or to an adjacent jetty a short stroll down the beach at low tide. CHILDREN AND PETS: Beach Cove is great for children and well behaved pets with plenty of lawn and a sandy beach - Well behaved Pets (maximum 2) are welcome to complimentary stay. plenty of water containers supplied.

DEPOSIT DETAILS AND TARIFF PAYMENTS:

A $200 deposit is required to confirm your booking once your completed booking form is returned, $500 deposit during summer period. Deposit and tariff can be paid by net bank transfer, cheque, Visa or Mastercard. Further information, ferry timetables, water taxi details are emailed to you closer to your stay at Beach Cove.

It is perhaps the lack of cars, or simply the people who choose to live here that make Dangar Island so special. Whatever it is, Beach Cove certainly guarantees you time out from the traditionally busy city life. Even two nights here can absolutely refresh the soul.

TRAVELLING TO BEACH COVE - ISLAND FEATURES - GUEST EMAILS

BEACH COVE is located on Bradley's Beach on Dangar Island, just a short 15 min ferry trip - 17 ferries per day, 5 minutes by own boat from Brooklyn. The ferry connects at Brooklyn's Hawkesbury River Train station just 1 hour by train from Sydney CBD. If travelling by car from Sydney CBD Brooklyn is only approx 1 hour by car or 30 minutes from Hornsby. Cost of the ferry is $5.40 per person each way. Please note that dogs are allowed to travel on the Dangar Island Ferry but must be on a lead and muzzled or in a pet carrier for the duration of the 15 minute journey.

A great alternative to the ferry is to hire a water taxi from Brooklyn. Rick from Dangar Marine Cabs will pick you up from the Brooklyn Public Wharf and drop you off either on the beach outside of Beach Cove if high tide or to a nearby wharf for the short walk along the beach to Beach Cove. Cost is one way $20 for first two people, extra $10 for each additional person including all your gear and pets, during hours 7am to 9.30pm additional charge after hours. If bringing your own runabout, the closest boat ramp is Parsely Bay 2 minutes from Brooklyn Ferry wharf. It is a 5 minute trip to Beach Cove and there is a running line/mooring at Beach Cove for private use.

There are no cars on Dangar Island, most residents have wheel barrows at the ferry wharf to transport provisions to their homes. The island is a mix of permanent residents approx 60% and weekenders 40% there are approx 10 weekenders that are let for holiday purposes. Dangar Island is a quiet island community, Beach Cove is set up for your quiet private enjoyment and we do not allow more than 5 tenants or guests at any one time.

The island has several walking tracks, some leading to the beach, and others that lead to the bush reserve on the hill. The ferry travels to Brooklyn every hour - so friends can come visit or you can cruise to Brooklyn for a leisurely lunch by the waters edge (see photo gallery)

Mix this island tranquility with the many choices of where to eat that the Hawkesbury is able to offer and one has the makings of a perfectly relaxing weekend doing as much or as little as you choose.

The Dangar Island Bowling Club is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and weekend dinners. Open also for Sunday lunch. The Island Cafe has just reopened in March, great for breakfast, light lunch, also available newspapers, milk, bread, icecreams and general range of groceries.

There are many excellent restaurants, cafes, seafood takeaways in the immediate area of Dangar Island along with a good water taxi service and hourly ferries - exploring the area is easy - full information on Beach Cove, Dangar Island, Brooklyn and all it offers is in our Beach Cove Information Folder at Beach Cove.
