Weekends you can catch the twilight markets at the marina in Urangan or the beach markets in Torquay. Conveniently located around the corner and up past the Botanical Gardens is the Urangan shopping centre with a Woolworth's, a butcher, a pharmacy, a newsagent, ATM machines, a Post Office and various other shops.
FIVE3FIVE is a unique beachfront property by all accounts built in the 1920's as a recovery centre for returning soldiers and later extended in the 1960's. The internal corridors of each apartment host meters of indoor timber planter boxes to enhance the indoor-outdoor feeling of being surrounded by tropical greenery. This is complimented by soft Asian lantern lighting that creates a unique charm. The interior design is a clash of old world heritage meets modern Asian influence and the result is amazing.

Steps from your door, the beach access pathway leads to another world. A little jetty takes you out over the water in a short moment. The jetty is perfect for being mesmerised by the sparkling waters of the Great Sandy Strait with views of the Urangan Pier and Fraser Island off in the distance or just watching the birds make lazy circles in the sky. Another bonus, you always have a landmark on the beach if you go out for a walk or a paddle so it's easy to find your way home...
Go for a bike ride along the Esplanade and enjoy the free fitness stations or get out on the water in a single or double kayak or better yet a pedal boat... Two people pedal and two get to enjoy the ride!! Build a sandcastle or look for shells. Enjoy a swim in the safe and calm waters of Shelly Beach - we have a few floating loungers and body boards on hand. For those who have a bit more relaxation in mind, we have sun loungers on the top deck and 12 folding beach recliners with optional shade covers to take over to the beach. Take a break and read a book on the beach or on the deck and sink into that holiday feeling.
For those fishermen out there with midnight timetables, we have a couple of rods and a tackle box. You are not far away for throwing in a line. This particular jetty is a favorite spot for local fishermen. For the romantics. how about some spectacular star gazing at night or an evening picnic on the beach. Watch the bats fly by at dusk or just enjoy the sunset. Lots of ways to appreciate having a jetty right on your doorstep.
The beachfront parkland features an outdoor shower to rinse off after playing in the water or to cool down before a long jaunt. A free under cover BBQ can cater for small or big groups and has public facilities. You can just saunter across the road and cook outdoors on the barbie and enjoy dining right on the foreshore. Best of all is the vista over Shelly Beach with views that Hervey Bay is famous for. Relax and enjoy the seascape.
Fancy being able to sit on the beach to sip your morning coffee... There are plenty of picnic benches right across the street. Get an early start and you can catch the sunrise while enjoying the sound of the waves. Take a stroll at sunset or sneak over for a quick dip before dinner if you take in one of the many day trips on offer including Whale watching, Fraser or Lady Elliot Islands.
