The breathtaking vistas of the Carlton River and surrounding farmlands await you at our homely B&B, situated right at the waters edge.

Our peaceful property offers a relaxed atmosphere for those wishing to escape with comfort. Some of Tassie's most beautiful beaches are a short drive away for swimming, surfing, and fishing; bring your kayak; drop a line in for a fish; read that long-lost novel or do some birdwatching; enjoy a sunset wine on the riverdeck; snuggle up to an evening logfire.

You'll find us half way between Hobart & Port Arthur, 20 minutes from airport & Richmond, & a short drive to Dunalley, Sorell, and Eagle Hawk Nest.

Take your continental breakfast (included) alfresco overlooking the river. A full cooked breakfast is available on request for a small extra charge. Gas BBQ facilities are available for guest use.

Carlton River B&B can sleep upto a maximum of 8 people. We have choices of double with ensuite, double with shared bathroom, twin with shared bathroom.

The historical Carlton River Post Office, one of the oldest and longest serving in Australia, is right next door.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

Nearby Lewisham pub offers great pub meals, bottle shop, pool table AND Live! music on Sundays @ 46 Lewisham Scenic Drv, Lewisham.

Local shopping centre at Dodges Ferry has butcher, bakery, fuel, post office, pharmacy, and convenience store mini-mart (with deli). Or pick up some supplies at Woolworths (Sorell) on your way through.

Forcett Lakes Golf Club offers a 9-hole course approx. 15mins drive @ 120 Lewisham Road, Lewisham.

Beautiful local beaches include Carlton Beach, Primrose Sands, Connelly's Marsh only a short drive, or a bit further on 7 mile beach.

After many years providing care in the nursing profession, Mary is now an experienced and fully qualified remedial massage therapist who will be sadly missed by her regular clients in Melbourne. She is available by appointment for a therapeutic massage, or perhaps a relaxing treat to assist you in unwinding, forgetting the stresses of daily life, and fully appreciating the tranquility and beauty of your surroundings.

Trevor has spent many years working in the book trade, and is a N.A.A.T.I. accredited interpreter and translator. He is fluent in French, Spanish and Croatian. Trevor spent his early years in Europe, and lived in Paris for sixteen years.

Tiger and Jess are our friendly golden labs, who are happy to keep you company or leave you to yourselves.

HOW TO FIND US....

From Hobart and the airport, follow major road and signs to Sorell.

Once at Sorell, turn RIGHT at the traffic lights onto the A9 heading for Port Arthur.

Follow A9 until the Dodges Ferry (Carlton) turnoff, which is a RIGHT turn onto the C334.

Follow the C334 for 5.7km until the Carlton River turnoff, which is a LEFT turn onto Carlton River Road.

Follow Carlton River Road for 6.4km until you reach us at No.642 ...
Hard to miss Terracotta house in daytime, or lights will all be on at night if we are expecting you.
