Description

Located only 15 min from Cessnock and 15 min from the centre of the Polkabin wine region this cutely decorated old farmhouse has been beautifully restored with antiques and quality furniture, designed to create a luxurious and restful stay.

A hydrotherapy spa bath will mean perfect pummelling in the all white and slate bathroom meticulously finished with old style exposed tap wear and restored pedestal basin. Underfloor heating means toasty toes during the colder months.

A chandelier carried all the way from Prague has pride of place in the lounge room that takes in views down the valley and up the mountain all around on the other side. Large picture windows and large wrap around deck mean there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the views.

The original agar stove is a showpiece in the restored original kitchen complete with modern day stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and all that is needed to cook up a storm. Dine at the 19th Century table and antique chairs in the centre of the kitchen or on the deck.

The cottage itself has 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen. Both beds have quality mattresses, sheep skin mattress covers, pillows and quality 100% cotton linen because we want to ensure a good nights sleep.

There is a third bedroom which we call our Kids Retreat.

We have had a 7 page feature in Inside Out Renovators Guide released in May this year.

Kids Retreat Just Completed

A specially dedicated room for children in an annex off the house. It has two bunk beds with the an additional two beds via a trundle and fold out single bed. This room has its own toilet and wash basin, TV with DVD and Video and kids corner complete with toys including a trainset, chalkboard, old style tricycle and games, tonka trucks to play with outside and many more. This room is only available upon request with an additional fee of $50 per night but we don't charge extra for children.

Guest Reviews
A beautifully decorated farmhouse that was truly unique. Highly recommend staying if you are stressed & need peace & quite away from the rat race. Our dog loved wandering around the property & having a sniff. All the modern day comforts are thought of while still maintaining a farmhouse feel.

Yet another luxurious stay. Evenings in front of the fire and in the hydrotherapy bath - daytimes on the deck in the sun, bbq'ing breakfast and lunch.

3 days away is as relaxing as being away for 2 weeks! Even our dogs just lie back and soak up the atmosphere.

Congratulations on one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in !

Many thanks, Nikki, Kyle & Pooches

Cosy, warm and inviting. Stunning rural location, not far from Hunter wineries. Relax on the verandah, or snuggle up in front of the fire. Totally relaxing country experience, loads of room for the littlies to run wild!

Hi Jenny.

We LOVED your place and had such a relaxing stay in the Hunter. The Shih Tzu twins enjoyed romping in the fully fenced yard, so they had a great time, too, and it was wonderful to be able to stay in such a well-appointed place with them.

I think the best compliment I can give is that I woke up in the middle of the night and thought I was at home! I never sleep well away from my own bed, but awoke refreshd and rested on both mornings.

We will definitely be back, and I will be telling all of my friends, family and colleagues
about Clyde's. It's lovely that you retained the name of the original owner--what a
tribute.

Thanks for thinking of everything!

Wonderful place, our second visit this year. Very relaxing, quiet, great woodburning stove, comfy beds, lovely decor and all the facilities you need. The biggest attraction was the kids retreat for the boys, we hardly saw them all weekend. Highly recommended.

Jenny well done on creating a fabulous and cosy farm house. All the trickets were fun to explore and the kids room kept our little girl happy for hours! The deck is exceptional and there was nothing more beautiful than waking up to a crisp sunny morning having a cup of tea in our PJs on the deck. Total peace, total relaxation and beautiful fresh air. Thank you.

We had a lovely time at the very beautiful and peaceful Clyde's at Mount View.
Take one gorgeously decorated, well stocked house and combine it with some great Hunter Valley wines, and you will have a weekend to remember!

This was the second time my Husband and I stayed at Clydes - and it won't be the last. Jenny and Jonathan have provided a luxury retreat perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The house is beautifully decorated, and includes all the mod cons. The bathroom is real treat (heated floor, spa bath...). I am already looking forward to our next visit.

Great property to stay, away from it all and easy and quick access to vineyards and the Hunter. Loved the bathroom, fireplace and made up fire on arrival (nice touch), deck, surrounds and location. Kids room novel and a good 'escape' for all. Actual accom (kitchen, living) was a touch small but we managed (4 adults and 4 under 4), and the place has everything you need! Will suggest to others and hopefully return. Fantastic directions too!
