Farm Activities

Lilly Pilly Cottage extends a warm welcome to children having activities which delight them, like the morning and evening feeding of the friendly farm animals. The farm environment allows opportunity for children to bond with the animals and interact with nature. Farm stay suits all ages and people.

In the morning watch Joel and Seth milk Heidi the goat or Betsie the cow (in season) and taste milk that is truly \'farm fresh\'. Betsey has just had her calf Clarabella born 31st March. Also, assist Amity in the feeding of Blue and Boof the ponies and our miniature Shetland Amy - a lovable, very huggable \'My Little Pony\' look alike, who loves to be brushed. Meet Baci our beautiful Palomino pony. Hand feed Inca and Cuzco the alpacas. Hand feed the chooks and ducks.

A pony ride (led) on Boof or Amy is also available on request to Dominique, at an extra cost.

You can also be a part of the grape harvest sometime in March. This is when our Shiraz grapes are hand-picked and crushed for the year\'s vintage. After the grapes are picked we celebrate the harvest by enjoying a smorgasbord of food and a taste of last year\'s vintage.

  • "We had a great time and the kids were free to roam and look at the animals as much as they liked. Also partook of a horseride which trailed around the property. Cosy cottage and lovely peaceful property with beautiful views of paddocks and big trees. We will come again!"

  • "We had a terrific time here, the kids really enjoyed it. A great family holiday and would recommend this to all other families. We all had a marvelous time interacting with the animals, milking Betsy the cow, feeding Alpacas, chooks, etc, it was really great. So tranquil and relaxing. • "This was our second stay at Lilly Pilly Cottage and we loved it just as much if not more than last time. There were so many things to love about our stay - our hosts, the unique cottage, fresh milk, bottle of red, the animals, feeding time, the fact that it's not too far from home, I could go on forever. We definitely hope to be back again."

  • "We had a fantastic time We really didn't know what to expect and our kids had a ball feeding the animals, riding Boof and, of course, playing with children Richard and Veronica. Ray and Manuela are lovely people with a great, welcoming family and great farm to share with others! We will definitely go back."

  • "This was a fantastic holiday for our young family. Our children loved all the space and fresh air, and being able to interact with all the farm animals at daily feeding sessions was great. The cottage has a lovely warm feel to it and a separate play room filled with toys and books was a huge hit with the kids as was the outside sandpit and swing set. The owners were very welcoming and a source of local knowledge. All this just 30minutes away! Thanks to Ray, Joel, Seth, Veronica & family for a lovely stay."

  • "Staying a week at Lilly Pilly Cottage for our school assignment was one of the best experiences we've ever had. We were kept busy throughout our stay in the farm, riding horses, feeding the animals, grooming the animals, taking care of the vineyard, milking the cow???I could go on and on. We never knew how fun it could be. Not to mention the Lake and the picnic at the beach, how relaxing and wonderful it was ! Even from the first day, we immediately bonded with all the friendly children; we definitely became part of the Shentons for that week! It was a great opportunity staying at Lilly Pilly Cottage, leaving behind wonderful memories which we'll never forget! A great cosy cottage, Great friendly animals, Great happy children, Great fun and challenging farm activities... its got to be the BEST !!!"
