Farm Activities

Lilly Pilly Cottage extends a warm welcome to children having activities which delight them, like the morning and evening feeding of the friendly farm animals. The farm environment allows opportunity for children to bond with the animals and interact with nature. Farm stay suits all ages and people.

In the morning watch the milking of Betsie the cow (in season) and taste milk that is truly 'farm fresh'. Also, you can assist in the feeding of the ponies Blue and Baci and our miniature Shetland Amy - a lovable, very huggable 'My Little Pony' look alike, who loves to be brushed. Feed Inca and Cuzco the alpacas and hand feed the chooks and ducks.

A led pony ride on Amy is also available for little ones. This is at $25 per half hour, by request to Amity or Veronica.

You can also be a part of the grape harvest sometime in March. This is when our Shiraz grapes are hand-picked and crushed for the year's vintage. After the grapes are picked we celebrate the harvest by enjoying a smorgasbord of food and a taste of last year's vintage.

  • "Enjoyed our stay very much. As it was our first time on a farm, we didn't know what to expect but the owners were very helpful answering our email queries. All qualms diminished the moment we stepped into the cosy & comfy cottage (which had a fireplace which kept us warm & toasty at night). Except for the occasional sounds of the farm animals, the surroundings were peaceful & quiet. A lovely change from the hustle bustle of the city. The kids looked forward to every single feeding session & enjoyed their walks with hospitable Farmer Ray, who was very patient with them. They couldn't get enough of the playground either. All in all, we had a wonderful & relaxing holiday. Wished we could have stayed longer but given the opportunity, we would return in the future."

  • "We had a wonderful holiday in Lilly Pilly Cottage. I just loved it. So did my daughters who are 6&7 years old. Morning and early evening, we just couldn't miss feeding time ! No doubt we're gonna go back to the cottage next year. "

  • "Hi ray and family, We stayed with you in March 2010, and my kids are still asking when we are ging back tom visit farmer ray and his family. This is a rather delayed review, but I feel that credit shoud be given wewhere due, and Lilly Pilly Cottage was simply the 'bestest ever' holiday for our family. They had such fun milking cows, picking and coooking freshly laid eggs, playing with the dog, alpacas , riding the pony. But it is people who make the holiday, and it was the warmth and hospitality of ray and his family who made the holiday a specially meaningful one. We hope to be back, and the kids send their hugs . Cheers n God bless, Sharon and Jonathan yeo and the 4 prinicesses from Singapore."

  • "This was the perfect place for our little 2 year old boy who loves his farm animals to really get involved and up close with so many of them, he fed the chooks, collected fresh eggs, fed the goats and their 2 day old kids and even watched Mummy & Daddy milk Betsy the Jersey cow (with help from Joel!). Such a lovely place to wind down and enjoy nature at its best, Ray and Manuella were the perfect hosts and we enjoyed the cosy cottage and added touch of fresh farm 'goodies' waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. Thanks for a lovely family weekend!"
Cheryl, Chris & Ollie, August 2009

  • "Just beautiful rustic cottage in a beautiful setting! We all felt so relaxed in all that gorgeous nature. My kids had a ball, enjoying the bush swing and feeding the animals. The host family are lovely and so good with all their guests! We will be going back for sure!"
    Nicki and Ian, August 2009

  • "We had a great time and the kids were free to roam and look at the animals as much as they liked. Also partook of a horseride which trailed around the property. Cosy cottage and lovely peaceful property with beautiful views of paddocks and big trees. We will come again!"
    Cathy, July 2008

  • "We had a terrific time here, the kids really enjoyed it. A great family holiday and would recommend this to all other families. We all had a marvelous time interacting with the animals, milking Betsy the cow, feeding Alpacas, chooks, etc, it was really great. So tranquil and relaxing. Ray, Joel, Seth and the rest of the family were very welcoming and friendly."
    Ken & Carole, January 2008

  • "This was our second stay at Lilly Pilly Cottage and we loved it just as much if not more than last time. There were so many things to love about our stay - our hosts, the unique cottage, fresh milk, bottle of red, the animals, feeding time, the fact that it's not too far from home, I could go on forever. We definitely hope to be back again."
