Colby Cottages

Description

The cottages were lovingly built by the owners Andrew and Glenda over a period of some seven years and were completed in December 2011. (There are two one bedroom and one three bedroom ) Most of the materials were purchased from demolitions and restoration sites giving the cottages a unique and older style in appearance. Coupled with the antique furnishings and decor, the interiors have a real old world charm whilst maintaining modern amenities including reverse cycle air conditioning and two person spas. The open fires when lit have an ambience all of their own and marshmallows are usually supplied in the cooler weather for toasting at your lesuire. A drop of local port and chocolates are provided for those intimate moments on the back verandah watching the sunset over the surrounding hills. Breakfast provisions are supplied and cooking your own breakfast on the little antique gas stove is another charming episode for most guests. The gardens are filled with birdlife of all descriptions and at different times of the year you will see finches to king parrots. Should the weather be warmer guests are invited to use the swimming pool which is set among the gardens and is a feature in itself with a rock pool emptying into the main pool. All this combined with the charm of Beechworth and Yackandandah townships only ten minutes in either direction make this the perfect getaway or stopover for those who desire rest and relaxation in serene and romantic surroundings.
