Description

The only small B&B in York awarded listing on the State Register of Heritage Places. The colonial heritage c1859 B&B cottage offers comprehensive quality facilities for all seasons, hearty country breakfasts and real Australian colonial history. A unique and genuine heritage experience. Clean and quiet.

The B&B cottage is located close to the rear of the main house. It is separate from the main house but like other buildings on site is part of our family home. It has its own entrance and offers complete privacy. There is only one cottage, you are the sole guests and have the entire one acre family property to yourselves.

The c1859 colonial B&B cottage provides first class quality, a queen bed with doona and patchwork quilt, RC air conditioning, pot belly wood fire, fan, TV, CD, radio, magazines to peruse and complimentary welcome treats. The enclosed rear verandah of the cottage provides a private ensuite and a small kitchen sink area with drink making facilities, a range of teas and coffees and a fridge. The tariff range is $175 to $195 pcpn depending on the date and includes a hearty Australian country cooked breakfast served in the garden gazebo in fine weather or in the breakfast room of the main house by a warm pot belly in winter.

The accommodation is part of the family home we occupy and you will have sole guest status. So that your experience can be enjoyable please advise us about any special circumstance or requirements prior to our confirmation of your booking, or any online payment is made, to ensure that we are able to provide for your needs.

The mature landscaped gardens have been featured in two open garden days hosting over 1000 visitors. They cover one acre adjacent to Bland Brook. The garden colours follow the seasons and are most spectacular in Spring when the thirty or so flowering fruit trees are in full display. The garden provide nooks for reading, reflection and enjoyment.

TO CELEBRATE OUR 150th ANNIVERSARY Wansbrough House and Grounds will be one of AUSTRALIA's OPEN GARDENS on 26 and 27 September 2009 from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm. Refreshments and local products will be for sale. Free guided mini-tours of the buildings will be available on the hour each day. Guided one hour street walks of the surrounding Blandstown Village Heritage Precinct will also be available for a small charge per person.
