Description
Secluded Bed and Breakfast getaway set on a 430 acre property only 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The historic homestead was designed by Sir Talbot Hobbs in 1911 and boasts magnificent town and farm views over York.
Our guest rooms are separate from the homestead and offer privacy and tranquility while our queen-size ensuite bedrooms with separate sitting area provide every comfort and are a "home away from home". An optional cooked or continental breakfast is served in the Tea House overlooking the gardens.
Our rambling country garden is filled with Australian native plants and cottage garden favourites and an amazing collection of old farming equipment and memorabilia affords hours of interest.
In addition, we offer visitors the choice of 3 self-contained cottages - ideal accommodation for small groups, families or couples.
Each cottage has three/four bedrooms and is fully furnished and equipped. One cottage has full disable faciities. Wood stoves proivde heating during the winter months and reverse-cycle air conditioners are standard in all cottages and all linen is provided. The cottages may be rented on a weekly basis if desired.
A total of 35 people can now be accommodated at Hillside or 18 singles for conferences.

York is the ideal base from which to explore the Avon Valley and surrounding country towns. Sky-diving is a must in York, while Beverley provides gliding and the Avondale Discovery Farm. Northam is the hot-air ballooning centre and Cunderdin boasts a fascinating Museum. It also features displays of the results of the devastating earthquake in Meckering in 1968.
Stop-over in York en route to the famous Wave Rock in Hyden or further to the coastal cities of Albany and Esperance. Admire wonderful handcrafted furntiure from native West Australian timbers or trace our local history at the Residency Museum.
"Sophie's Retreat" and "The Stables Studio" & Beverley Cottage
We offer our guests a choice of 'Sophie's Retreat' with 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, sitting-room and fully equipped kitchen - perfectly suited to two couples or a small family.
Also the 'Stables Studio' with a 2 person spa / shower, queen bed, sitting area and a small fully equipped kitchenette is ideal for that romantic escape!
Beverley Cottage is a very comfortable, fully furnished 'home away from home' with 3 queen sized bedrooms. An extra-large verandah affords spectacular views over farmland and surrounding hills.
An optional cooked breakfast is available at an extra charge at the Tea House in the gardens.
