Accommodation for singles, couples or families

The B&B occupies the entire downstairs area of our home, with its own entrance ensuring guest privacy. The large air-conditioned studio with queen bed, kitchenette and TV opens onto a glassed-in verandah and sheltered guest garden with uninterrupted views along the coast. We are child-friendly, with single beds on the verandah and a single & a double room adjoining the main studio.You and your family are our only guests. Let us spoil you!

Be welcomed by your caring hosts

Alf and Jane Scott are a retired art teacher and University librarian. At the heart of our decision to open a B&B was a love of meeting people and a pride in what our town has to offer. Newcastle has shaken off its industrial mantle to become the place to go in New South Wales. Our guests echo Scottish comedian and actor Billy Connolly who described it as - a smashing wee place. And in all modesty, the best place in town is - Merewether Beach B&B. Colour is a defining element, as robust and unapologetic as the paintings and ceramics of Alf Scott which lovingly adorn the rooms. Jane likes to cook - and to nurture. Enjoy her breakfast extravaganza in a delightful sun-filled room. Drink in the view with your freshly-squeezed orange juice. In season you may even breakfast with whales and dolphins!
