Description

Our house is between the wide Goolwa Beach and the Lakes Foreshore and and adjacent the South Lakes Golf Course. The AquaCaf restaurant is a few minutes walk from the house. This is a private holiday home, in a holiday haven, protected by well developed gardens and trees. It is an easy one hour drive from Adelaide, but a world away. Petrol prices are not an issue at this distance.

Goolwa Beach and the Southern Ocean surf zone is only a 90 second drive away, with rare on-beach access for 4-W-D adventurers to reach the Murray Mouth and great surf beach fishing. At night you will hear the boom of the waves, just across the golf course and sandhills. Access to the seawater Coorong boat ramp is only a few minutes drive down Barrage Road, with saltwater angling to be had in clear blue tidal waters towards the Murray Mouth.

The house has comfortable accommodation for 9 people and room enough for two flexible families by prior agreement. Comfortable modern furnishings and a big split system heat/cool r/c air-conditioning unit are a feature. Toilet facilities upstairs and down. A gas BBQ is always ready under the balcony. Also a Weber BBQ if you know how to work it.

South Lakes is perfect for families wanting to enjoy water sports and fishing on the nearby Murray River Lakes Foreshore. *There is still water in the Murray Lakes, it is just narrower and in the main channel. Water skiing, parasail boarding, trailer-sailing or even model boating is a feature of the protected lakes area. You are just a minute from the water and the trendy AquaCaf restaurant when staying at Open House Goolwa.

The house is attractive and clean, a fully renovated family-owned holiday home in the garden-setting of South Lakes - the friendliest holiday neighbourhood at Goolwa.

To keep prices low, we ask you to bring your own Linen (sheets, pillow cases & towels) if you possibly can. We do have some stand-by linen at the house, but it needs to be cleaned before you depart. Please note that ALL beds have quality dunas and clean quilt covers - so all you need is the linen.

Golfers can arrange a game at the excellent nearby South Lakes Golf Club links course, which is only a short buggy stroll from the house. The club has a great restaurant with excellent food & prices - and anyone is welcome.

If you don\'t want to cook, you can eat-out at the nearby Golf Club where all are welcome for food & pokies; or the popular and trendy AquaCaf; or at the many town hotels, cafes and bakeries. Have your meals delivered. Restaurant and Pizza contact info is simply on the fridge door magnets!

Take a real break - just relax. Quality Tea and Coffee bags are there for your arrival - and are complimentary.

Are you planning a Sea Change? Only an hour\'s drive and a change of house creates an amazing positive feeling. We really enjoy it when we make the time to visit. Experience that escape feeling in our family-owned home at Goolwa. Not just in Summer. In winter it\'s a quiet zone for vegging out. Listen for the rolling ocean, just beyond the golf course.

Ask about our Seasonal deals. This is our lifestyle we are sharing and is not a profit based business. We are renting the house to offset the cost of our own change in lifestyle. For 5 years we rented a place from a family at Goolwa. Then we took the plunge. Like them, we have been pleased with the people who regularly share our seaside/riverside home through Ozstays.

** We are NOT a Motel and prefer stays of more than three (3) nights. But we do have special OFF PEAK mid week stays - Sunday to Thursday. Prices are reduced for these weekdays. Please contact us to discuss our flexible options. Fact ~ Local renting agents are inflexible and demanding in comparison. Ask about bringing pets.

*Extended rental is available in most off peak periods at special rates for those planning to shift to the Fleurieu / Goolwa / Hindmarsh Island area or building in the region. You can keep an eye on the builders and their progress. Contact the owner Mike, at O\'Reilly Consulting, to discuss regular or repeat stay options.

NOTE: Long Weekends and Peak School Holidays, Easter and Xmas or New Year Holiday periods are always in HIGH demand, so contact us early. Longer period booking requests may receive precedence for Peak or Shoulder weekends.

Cleaning: This is an absolute requirement. You MUST leave the house as clean as you found it - including a quality final clean of dishes, kitchen, bathroom, toilets and sweeping & vacuum of floors up stairs and down. (This is not a motel and we do not want grubs ruining our house.) If you stay once - we hope to see you again - and you will expect to find it the same.
