THE ANCHOR LIGHT is a 4˝ Star Bed & Breakfast at Corlette Beach in Port Stephens. Casually elegant and very private, The Anchor Light provides contemporary Australian accommodation in the style of a high-end, boutique hotel.

Please note that The Anchor Light is not an english-style B&B – it is very private and breakfast is not a communal affair.

Corlette Beach is the best sandy beach in Port Stephens. And it is far enough away from Nelson Bay – the epicentre of tourism and holiday apartments at Port Stephens – to relax and unwind.

Corlette Point Road is a quiet No-Through road that runs behind the beach down to Corlette Headland Reserve and the exclusive Peppers Anchorage Resort & Marina. It is considered by many to be the most desirable address in Port Stephens – properties rarely come on the market and they generally sell for record prices.

It takes about 1-minute to walk from The Anchor Light to Corlette Beach, 3-minutes to Peppers and about 40-minutes to walk along The Waterfront Path into Nelson Bay.

The Anchor Light is in a great location and our guests also have access to the finest facilities at Peppers: There's the Day Spa, the Marina coffee shop … exceptional dining at Merretts Restaurant. And the view over Port Stephens from the Captain's Bar is sensational.

Corlette Beach is a 30-minute drive from Newcastle Airport and a 2˝-hour drive north of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

GUEST FACILITIES

The Anchor Light was purpose built in 2005 and it is new and very modern. It was designed for a high level of privacy and guests choose whether (or not) to interact with staff and each other.

And from freshly baked muffins to fastidiously clean ensuite bathrooms, we are well known for attention to detail including top quality mattresses and soft furnishings, Egyptian cotton bed linens and luxurious Sheridan bath towels.

The Anchor Light room tariff includes a substantial self-catered breakfast of fresh fruits, juice, yoghurt, cereals, tea & coffee and home baked goodies.

Many of our guests choose to enjoy the morning sunshine and breakfast on their private decks. However, Guest Rooms also have an indoor breakfast area for those who prefer complete privacy.

Please note that The Anchor Light:

* Tariff includes a self-catered, continental breakfast;
* Is a non-smoking property;
* Is very private – guests choose whether (or not) to interact with staff and other guests;
* Is not suitable for children and babies;
* Guest Rooms have a maximum occupancy of two (2) guests;
* Is not suitable for parties and large noisy gatherings;
* Guest Rooms are serviced daily;
* Health regulations do not allow animals, including pets, at The Anchor Light; and
* Health and fire regulations do not allow cooking at The Anchor Light.

THE QUEEN SPA ROOM

The Queen Spa Room is very generously sized at 45 SQM and includes a private entrance, queen-sized bed, Ensuite Bathroom, Reading Area, Kitchenette and a private Deck & Garden Area.

Please note that there is one (1) Queen Spa Room only at The Anchor Light.

The Ensuite Bathroom has a shower and toilet, pedestal basin and a two-person corner spa bath. The Reading Area includes a tub chair, ottoman and standard lamp, sofa, coffee table and a rug.

The Deck & Garden Area is designed for both privacy and morning sunshine and includes a teak table and chairs. And the Kitchenette has a 120-litre refrigerator, facilities for making tea and coffee and a breakfast table and chairs.

The Queen Spa Room facilities include:

* Individually controlled reverse cycle A/C;
* Handcrafted hardwood furniture;
* Opening windows;
* Hanging robe;
* Luggage rack;
* TV / DVD;
* Clock radio;
* Hairdryer;
* Ironing equipment (on request);
* Bathroom amenities including shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and body lotion; and
* Broadband Wi-Fi Internet access (1).

While some of our guests sit on the beach all day with a good book others wander along The Waterfront Path into Nelson Bay for lunch. Our more energetic guests continue on to Fingal Bay and some even trek along the beach from Fingal to Point Stephens and The Outer Lighthouse.

Closer to home, the short walk to the lookout on Corlette Headland is a popular early morning walk. While the Marina seawall at Peppers is a personal favourite as we often see dolphins and turtles and, in the cooler months, Fairy Penguins chasing bait fish in the Marina.

OTHER

The Anchor Light is built on a level site and there are only two steps and no steep hills to climb. And our northerly orientation ensures that we receive plenty of sunshine during the cooler months – A great time for a whale-watch cruise or to explore the nearby Hunter Wine Region.

Off-street parking is available and the surrounding garden wall helps ensure privacy for our guests and their vehicles. And the masonry construction of The Anchor Light helps ensure that our guests enjoy both peace AND quiet.
