LOCATION
A seaside resort for Melbournians in Queen Victoria's era, later a notorious red-light district, St Kilda is home to many of Melbourne's rising creative stars and professionals. Drawn by the many funky bars, outstanding restaurants and eclectic shops, this well-heeled crowd has brought an influx of spending power that's transformed a once neglected seaside suburb into Victoria's unchallenged 'Capital of Cool'.

The world-famous patisseries, the landmark Edelweiss Delicatessen and the popular Sunday art-and-craft market on the Esplanade are all still here and still thronged with customers.

But many hip newcomers have added to the vibrant cosmopolitan mix - sophisticated drinking spots, cozy and enticing restaurants, haute couture and New Age fashion outlets, Internet cafes, live music venues, the new Farmer's Market - and much more.

St Kilda offers an endlessly fascinating pot-pouri of modern pop and cafe culture, enhanced for people-watchers by a constant stream of sometimes eccentric, always colourful characters and Beautiful People from all over the globe.

Within a short walk of the middle of Fitzroy Street you will find trams that go anywhere you want, the southern end of Albert Park and its famous lake and Grand Prix track, Catani Gardens and St Kilda point with its restaurants, cafes and large indoor pool, St Kilda harbour and the Royal Melbourne Yacht Club, St Kilda Markets on the Esplanade, the George and Prince of Wales Hotels, some beautiful old homes and mansions, as well as some of the best restaurants and cafes in Melbourne.

Still within easy walking distance you can find the penguin colony on the marina breakwater, Luna Park, some of Melbourne's most well-known restaurants and cafes overlooking Port Phillip Bay, the popular beach and promenade area, Acland St shops, restaurants and cafes, St Kilda Junction and roads to everywhere, as well as the start of St Kilda Road precinct.

A slightly longer walk or tram ride will take you to St Kilda marina, The Alfred Hospital, the St Kilda or Royal Botanic Gardens, the Shrine of Remembrance, Victoria Barracks, or Melbourne Exhibition Centre (Jeff's Shed). You will also find Station Pier at Port Melbourne, the South Melbourne Markets, Albert Park Public Golf Course, and Chapel Street shopping & restaurant strip.

Neighbouring suburbs are Middle Park, St Kilda Road, Prahran, Windsor, Balaclava and Elwood.

If you want to go further afield from your Nest, you can take a tram to the CBD or Southbank, Port Melbourne, Bridge Road shopping strip or South Yarra, or to Brighton East or Toorak. The Nepean and Princes Highways are a couple of minutes away, and CityLink and the Monash Freeway are easy to get to, connecting you with all major roads out of the city.

We choose our serviced apartments with two main criteria in mind; they must be central (close to transport, cafes, restaurants, bars and shops), and even though they are in the thick of things, the actual apartments must be reasonably quiet, so you are not woken up all night.

Our Melbourne serviced apartments are decorated and fitted out under guidance of a very experienced interior decorator for your enjoyment.

Whether you're visiting Melbourne for business for a week or a month, or to enjoy one of Melbourne's famous or cultural events, for a second honeymoon, or for a family holiday - our boutique apartments are the perfect answer for your short or medium term accommodation needs.

GUEST TESTIMONIALS

I stayed in Catani 1 for about a month after moving to Melbourne. I had planned on only staying a few weeks but was quite happy to extend my stay twice while still looking for a house to rent. The location is excellent - two minutes walk to the tram, close to the city, only minutes away from the bars and restaurants of Fitzroy Street, but not so close that you're bothered by the noise. It's also only a short tram trip or 10 minute walk to the shops and supermarkets of Acland Street. Being so close to the beach meant it was an excellent place to take a weekend stroll. The apartment is comfortable and bigger than the average hotel room, so I don't get cabin fever during my stay there. I also appreciated the secure undercover parking, and the fact that the TV had an HDMI port so I could plug in my laptop or Apple TV to play movies - a small point but a big plus for me ... a month after moving to Melbourne. About my only gripe would be the lack of Foxtel. I did have problems with the clothes drier, but the owner was very responsive and simply replaced it with a new one, so can't complain about that. All in all it was a great place to spend my first month in a new city and would happily recommend it to others.

My wife (and our 2 dogs) have stayed here 3 times and plan on returning again later in the year. The flats suit us ideally, both in their proximity and their attention to customer satisfaction. I would thoroughly recommend stay central for anyone planning a short or a long stay in St Kilda.

We have stayed here twice. It's like a home away from home. A clean, comfortable, very nice interior with all the little things you need. The location is brilliant; close to some great restaurants, outdoor cafes & shops, and the trams & beach area are almost on your doorstep. We will be back.

Your apartment was what we were looking for. Great area and quiet too. I'll certainly pass along your places if any of our friends are heading to Melbourne.

Excellent location. Beautifully maintained accommodation. We enjoyed your Fitzroy St apartment enormously.
Fred & Kathryn Given, Galway, Ireland

In comparison with high-end impersonal hotels, I was delighted with the care shown by Chris in taking me on a neighbourhood familiarisation tour, complete with introductions to people in the village. I followed Chris' suggestions in dining at Mikoshi (met the locals), Chinta Ria and indulged in Thai massage. Everyone and each experience was great! Comfortable bed. Quiet, safe haven! It truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you.
Sigrid Condon, Kancoona, Victoria, Australia

It's central. It's an apartment. It's got all the facilities one needs - own washing, dryer, kitchen, lounge, two balconies, privacy etc. And if I wanted to step out of that comfort zone then there's the courtyard (nice design), heated pool, gym. If I wanted to move out of the security of the place ... then I've got Melbourne at my door step ... to meetings, shops, cafes, bars, beach etc. Then I can return to my own comfort zone and do my own thing. In a nutshell it's probably the closest one can get to being
