Description

Come and stay awhile, a week or just a night and experience first hand the charm and ambience of Turmeric Gardens.
Two very well appointed award winning self contained cottages are situated around a tropical spice garden. Set among towering gums and native palms the bush setting becomes your own private retreat. Peace and tranquility are only interupted by the sounds of the frogs, birds and the bush insects.
You can go for bush walks, watch the antics of the domestic animals and wildlife, and breath in mountain fresh air.
We are centrally located to the Sunshine Coast, and all services and attractions are only minutes drive from here.
The Eumundi Markets, Australia Zoo, Noosa Heads to Caloundra, beaches all the way. Maleny along the Blackall Range to Monetville and Mapelton, with lakes and waterfalls, and many restaurants, galleries and cafes.

Some breif comments made by our guests range from "absolutely gorgeous","fantastic atmosphere", "love the breakfast".

Let us spoil you with our warm and friendly service and your choice of delicious organic foods. All you need do is relax and enjoy your time out.

Cheers, Peter & Shelley

Piccabean Cottage

Piccabean Cottage is the larger of the two and is situated in the spice garden. The kitchen/dining features a breeze through giving the impressions of being outdoors, with the security of insect screens and cafe style blinds in winter.
Both cottages have beautiful queen size beds with down doonahs and pillows, crispy linen, fresh towles, and dressing gowns. Only this cottage has the bathroom or 'Loo with a view' in a detached building a few steps away, elevated and also screened so that you can watch the birds and wildlife from your vantage point. Duckpond Cottage has an ensuite.

Duckpond Cottage

Duckpond Cottage is fully self contained and is in a lovely spot over the ponds. It has a deck to enjoy the morning sun and to watch the goings on of the wildlife. Both cottages are fitted with TV, stereo and surround sound DVD, heaters and full kitchen facilities.

Guest Reviews

  • "Tumeric Gardens provided us with a comfortable, welcoming, generous and secluded environment for a break away from home. The set up and design of both the house and bathroom is imaginative and inspiring. The food was fresh and delicious and where possible grown on site and combined with the unobstrusive service was just perfect. Thanks for a brilliant 3 days."

  • "Fabulous in every way - beautiful place, very peaceful, very comfortable and the owners were extremely hospitable and lovely people! The breakfasts were also excellent and the whole property a wonderful place to be (loved the ponds and the frogs, the animals and the tropical vegetation). We were also very impressed by the recycled materials used in the houses and the use of pit loos and tank water. The weather was rather cloudy and rainy but it didn't matter! We'd love to return again! Eithne, Steve & Clo"

  • "If you're looking for a place to stay in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, do not look past Turmeric Gardens. Whether it's for a relaxing pit-stop or a romantic get-away, you will not find a more tranquil or revitalising setting to rest and unwind. Peter and Shelly are the most accommodating hosts, and you will leave, reluctantly, believing you have found Queensland's best kept secret."
