Licuala Lodge is an award winning Timber Pole Home set on 2.5 acres of World Heritage Rainforest, just 1.5 km from the beach, in the heart of Queensland's Wet Tropics. The Lodge is a four star rated accommodation. Guest accommodation, fully ensuite, is separate to the main house and opens onto its own verandah overlooking lush tropical gardens and a fabulous waterfall swimming pool.
Included in the rate is a great tropical brekky (cereal, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, toast, jams, honey, cheese, salami, muffins, real 100% orange juice, tea, coffee). We serve the yummiest brekky in all Queensland. And if you fancy a cooked brekky, then try our 'Full Monty' - eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown, tomatoes and mushrooms - all for the princely sum of $10 - what a bargain !!
Drinks at the Lodge are complimentary - tea, coffee, soft drinks and BEER (yes as many as you like) - how good is that !!.
We have a large guest lounge with TV, DVD, CD, loads of books and games. For those wishing to self-cater we have a microwave, hot plate, BBQ - all the necessary crockery and cutlery.
We have a couple of bikes that you can hire at any time. If you fancy a go on a ride-on mower - then be our guest.
If you can't bear to be away from the washing machine or computer, we have laundry facilities and internet access. What more could you want ? A cup of tea or coffee on arrival - OK, we do that - no worries.
The Lodge is NOT suitable for children under the age of ten.
Mission Beach is located about 1.5 hours south of Cairns or 2.5 hours north of Townsville. If heading south, turn off the Bruce Highway at El Arish, and if travelling north, turn off the Bruce Highway just after Tully - too easy !!
Almost all the tour operators pick up and drop off at the Lodge free of charge. Mission Beach is the closest mainland point to the Great Barrier Reef. Several operators will take you to the Reef for scuba diving or snorkelling where you can catch a glimpse of Nemo and his buddies.
The nearby Tully river has dozens of grade 3 and 4 rapids, making White Water Rafting an experience not to be missed - what a great day out.
Sky Dive from 14,000 feet and land on the beach.
Croc spotting, Golf, Reef and River Fishing.
World Heritage Rainforest Walks, Magnificent Bird life, including the endangered Cassowary, the 3rd largest bird in the World. The brilliant Ulysses butterfly.
Mission Beach is blessed with some great restaurants - no big chain fast food outlets - now is that heaven or what !!
