Visit the famous Dendy Beach for a swim and walk along the colourful and iconic row of 82 bathing boxes that date back to the 1860's. Keep going along the beach towards the city and you'll arrived at the equally famous Brighton Baths, where you can enjoy a bite to eat or just have a drink while sitting at the waters edge, watching the sailing boats come and go from The Royal Brighton Yacht Club.

The walking and bike track on the Brighton Beach foreshore extends in both directions leading you along the bay's edge to places like colourful bohemian St Kilda or in the opposite direction along the famous coastal art trail, stop at green point park to enjoy the best views of Melbourne City and then continue towards Black Rock where you can see the wartime relic, HMVS Cerberus, as she rests in the crystal clear shallow waters.

Guest Reviews
Hi Brigitte & Harry,

I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that Peter, Xavier and I are now all back at home. I also wanted to let you know what a fantastic time we all had. I started to miss ‘Waratah’ as soon as I prepared and sat down to my breakfast of plain old weetbix this morning! The service, the food and particularly our wonderful hosts were exceptional. We are already planning our next trip.
We would also like to send to you and your family our best wishes for a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.
Once again, many, many thanks.
Cheers,
Peter, Donna & Xavier

Thank you for four peaceful nights' accommodation in your lovely home. My single bedroom and ensuite was very comfortable, your hospitality and the friendly serene atmosphere were wonderful; the service for my bus pick-ups, early morning tea tray, welcoming my elderly aunt for a visit, the spa, AND THE BREAKFASTS!! A quiet location, lovely garden outlook and walking distance close to everything. I will be returning here to stay when I next visit. Highly recommended.

It certainly made our weekend away from home a delightful treat. We will be back!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Waratah B&B in July 2006. It is indeed "the cream of the crop". My hosts, Harry and Brigitte were extremely accommodating, helpful and good company. Everything was clean & beautifully decorated. The location was close to transport and shopping and I would not hesitate to stay at the Waratah again.

The Waratah adds up to a great stay in Melbourne.

Dear Brigitte and Harry,

Thank you so much for making our stay in Brighton so welcome. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend Waratah to our friends. You deserve to do well with your magnificent establishment.

The only criticism, I am an occasional tea drinker but when I drink tea at breakfast I prefer leaf tea ( Melanie is a habitual tea drinker so she doesn't mind tea bags!).

Thanks once again, we look forward to staying with you again soon.

Kind Regards

Noel and Melanie Forster
