Description

Cedar Lodge is nestled in a quiet bush setting three minutes walk to the beach. The home is a very large open plan design on three levels with double storied decks on the northern and western sides of the house. Located in second valley at Eurong you will be away from all the noise and traffic that surrounds the main resort/shop/petrol station area.
A short walk or drive and you have access to all these facilities. Eurong even has a top restaurant, bakery and take away shop.

The power supply is generated from a huge bank of solar panels. This 240 volt source powers the lights, large fridge/freezer and new washing machine. Please do not plug any additional electrical appliances into the sockets as this will deplete the battery power for your essential services.

There is enough power for a nebuliser should it be required for anyone sufferring asthma.

Facilities

The house has a top quality white and stainless steel kitchen. An island bench holds the large gas cooktop with special burners for woks and fish cookers.
All cooking utensils, crockery etc are supplied but please take care not to use anything abrasive on the stainless steel benchtops. A new Webber BBQ- please take small brickettes and fire starters.

A complete bathroom renovation was done in June 2007

The house has a gas hot water system. The caretaker will have this switched on prior to your arrival.

The downstairs living area has cream coloured leather lounges. The dining table seats eight. There are two outdoor tables, one on the ground floor deck and another on the first floor.

The top floor is a very large area with a high pitched timber ceiling, louvres and skylight provide abundant natural light and ventillation. This area is the main bedroom.

On the middle floor there is another private bedroom with a queen sized bed. This room opens out into a huge L shaped area which has single beds (built in wardrobes with mirror doors), as well as a seating area. Sliding glass doors open onto the covered deck.

The phone is connected to the house and guests can receive incoming calls. To make outgoing calls you will need to use a phoneaway card. Mobile coverage is avaiable at the bottom of the ramp from the beach. Unfortunately not usually picked up from the house.

My house does not have television/ CD player etc. We prefer to talk and admire the abundant birdlife.

The bathroom and laundry are located on the ground floor.

Prices quoted do not include linen. You will need to bring sheets, pillow cases, towels, bath mat and tea towels.
All blankets, mattress protectors and pillows are provided.
New pillows are purchased every year. Linen is available for hire, if required. Please phone for details.

Holiday Area

Fraser island is a magnificent world heritage listed island with a million natural treasures! Enjoy the pristine inland lakes, rainforest walks, endless clean beaches, fresh water streams, coloured sands, shipwreck, whale watching and of course FISHING!

If accessing the island from Inskip Point I recommend that you use the Manta Ray barges.

The house will be available from 2.00pm, and please depart by 10.00am.

  • "Cedar Lodge is a perfect place to stay, very comfortable and homely and close to all the beautiful sites. We loved it and would stay again. "

  • "The property was absolutely ideal for our stay - and due to the information, pictures and maps provided by stayz, we were able to plan the perfect getaway. Once we got to Fraser Island, we had a fabulous time and all our planning cam into fruition, because we had such a reliable souce in stayz. We were able to talk directly with the property owner, which helped as well, so we knew what the house already had and what we needed to bring. Our overseas guests were very impressed and haven't stopped raving, saying it was their 'best holiday ever.' All thanks to stayz for making this a simple, easy and enjoyable process. "

  • "Property was lovely and clean on arrival and in a fantastic location. Plenty of room for all concerned and central to all the areas we wanted to see. Plenty of wildlife within arms reach however the dingo's were a little to friendly for our liking. Will definately be back again!"

  • "The house is great and suited our needs, it is in a good quiet area close to everything, Could not have been a better place to spend fathers day week-end with the kids. Plenty of room for us the spread out. Jenny and her care takers where more than helpful to us and made us feel welcome at every step. The house has everything you need, and best thing was no t.v. or radio so we had to talk and enjoy the bush around us Many Thanks Jenny For Sharing Your Peice of The island"
