Description

Pulman\'s Cottage offers a unique combination of a genuine farmhouse in a rural setting, with 7 acres of gardens and farmland just minutes from the delights of Berry township. It\'s just a short walk to the town centre for a coffee, or a browse around Berry’s markets, shops and historic buildings.

Located on the edge of town in Berry’s oldest street, Pulman’s Cottage is a meticulously restored 1860s farmhouse with a fusion of modern and 19th century – original fireplaces, leadlight windows, an extra long wrap-around verandah and a claw foot bath, along with many modern conveniences such as reverse cycle air conditioning, open plan kitchen/dining, up-to-date kitchen appliances, 2 living areas, one with a billiard table, and separate accommodation for another family.

Pulman’s Cottage is perfectly suited for a family group, or larger gatherings of friends and extended families, with a queen sized bed in the main bedroom, 1 double and 2 singles plus a divan in the second bedroom, two singles in the third bedroom and a single in the fourth.

Originally used as a farm, the present garden area is now a haven of tranquility and seclusion with views across lush dairy farms to the mountains. Wander through the secret garden of Paulownia trees, daffodils, roses and statues. Fish for perch in Broughton Mill Creek or relax on a bench watching out for platypus.

For the more active, there are walks down country roads, national parks, horse riding, bush walks to Drawing Room Rocks, beach hopping (Seven Mile, Gerroa and Werri Beaches are all within 15 minutes’ drive), as well as wine, jazz and garden festivals, musicales, and more.

Or you may prefer to simply sit on the verandah for a chat, a glass of wine or a good book.

Pets allowed, if house trained.

Guest Reviews

  • "Dear Jan, Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your cheerful house and your welcoming bottle of red!. We enjoyed both very much. The home has a wonderful atmosphere and we built a fire one of the nights. The kids enjoyed going down through the pretty garden to pat the horses and trying their hand at snooker. We also played tennis on the local courts and went horse-riding at Falls Creek. It???s a great base to explore the local area. Last but not least thank you for a holiday-let house that has a decently stocked kitchen re: crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. In our experience this is incredibly rare. A great place, full of character and we may well be back sometime in the future, Thanks for returning the jacket too. Regards, Sally"

  • "Recently I stayed at Pulman's Cottage with a group of 8 friends who were all visiting Berry for a Spring wedding. We all loved Pulman's Cottage- such a spacious cottage with all the mod cons anyone could ever want! We relaxed on the verandah, enjoying the beautiful gardens and also utilised the fire and pool table. The Cottage is in a great location, just a short walk from the main street of Berry, but nestled in a quiet street. What more could you ask for? We will definitely be back again soon. "

  • "We had a wonderful weekend at beautiful Pulman's Cottage. The kids and dog loved the gardens and creek, the adults loved sitting on the wide back verandah sipping a glass of red, thoughtfully provided by the owners. Loved everything about it!! "

  • "As part of a group os ladies away for the weekend I found the cottage very welcoming. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. We had the opportunity to stroll through the gardens and watch for the platypus, one of us being successful. Would recommend to others."

  • "A wonderfully relaxing holiday home that feels more like ''a home away from home'. To be surrounded by beautiful gardens, river and wildlife, yet just a few minutes from the pretty town of Berry, means that there is plenty of peace and quiet to be had but good access to all you could need. Really loved our week there, so did the furkids! Will definietly be back for more next year. "

  • "We had four adults and two young kids staying at the cottage and all enjoyed our stay. The kids had a great time riding their bikes down the hill and exploring the backyard especially the horses and cows in the neighbouring yard. We felt very relaxed, with a lovely glass of your wine and game of pool once the kids were asleep so thank you for our stay. "
