Description

Katandra Mountain Farm House is just one and a half hours from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast and a short journey via The Lions Road from Northern NSW.

It is set in the picturesque Lost World Valley and overlooks the brooding mountains of Lamington National Park.

An ideal spot for a getaway or group function - there are three bedrooms and a bunk room - so bring a crowd. You will have plenty of room with Two Large Living Areas and the whole farm to explore!

In winter curl up in front of the Open Fireplace and in summer relax on the huge Verandahs.

All year round swap stories or roast marshmallows by the outdoor campfire.

Hike, swim, fish, Picnic At The Old Bush Hut or just relax under the giant fig tree and read a book. Plenty of activities further afield also - wineries, horse riding, Border Ranges National Park, country pubs and lazy drives.

Katandra is Fully Self Contained. It is well equiped with 3 toilets and showers, air conditioning/heating, cookware, freshly made beds, video, book and music library. All you need to bring is your own food and drink.

Locality

One and a half hours from Brisbane or The Gold Coast - but a whole world away! You will probably just want to stay in the Valley soak up the views and relax or hike, swim and fish. If you feel like getting about though there are wineries and other National Parks all within an hour's drive. Horse riding is also available within the Lost World Valley and Weekend Markets in Beaudesert (Fortnightly).

Property

Katandra Mountain Farm House is situated on a Working Farm. As part of your stay we encourage you to stroll through the Olive Groves or inspect the herd of cattle as they pop their heads over the houseyard fence. Sheep feeding and patting is also available by arrangement only as well as egg collecting. Most people take advantage of the great picnic spot by the creek in the old hut. Relax by the water as it flows down off the mountain peaks and get a feel for the times of more rustic living (before returning to the modern comforts of the house of course). Swim or just chill out by the stream. It is a fantastic way to while away an afternoon.

Guest Reviews
We stayed at the Farm House in early Febuary and it was fabulous. The property had everything we needed for a quiet escape and it was a great weekend away. We invited some friends to come along and we were able to bring our two dogs who happily slept outside. Communication with the owner was excellent. Highly recommended.

Wonderful house. Wonderful grounds. The kids (and adults) had a great time exploring the creek and using up all their energy, so that the big kids could sit around the outdoor fire pit in peace late into the night and contemplate life. Going to the farmhouse to feed and see the animals was lots of fun for the kids. Thank you for allowing us to use your property.
