THE LOCATION

Bayside only one hour from Melbourne. Short drive to Mt Martha Village and South Beach as well as Martha Cove and Safety beach.
IN MOUNT MARTHA
South beach is a sensational place. Especially from Mid-feb to mid-Nov when it is not so crowded with sun seekers. It is also best enjoyed after the peak hours of the day, when you can be virtually alone on the beach. Take a big blanket, a hot fish and chips pack from the nearby shop in the village (walking distance), and enjoy the company of seagulls or solitary joggers and -bien sur- the happy laughter of your children enjoying the splah of the waves.
Sports fans big and little can also find their fair share of activities right in Mount Martha. South of the shopping centre on the Esplanade, at the big roundabout, you will find the Tennis centre and courts. Courts can be rented out for a moderate fee. The best deals are of course after school holidays when the tennis clinics are not running.
The Aquatic Centre -62 Forest Drive- offers a large pool and group lessons for the little ones. It is busy with lessons in the morning but pretty much open to public fun use in the afternoons. Non members must pay a small entry fee.
Mount Martha\'s public golf course offers fantastic views for golfers wanting a hit at sunset.
For a great walk and native wildlife exploration, try our towns\' very own Briars Park on the Nepean highway in Mount Martha. Explore the Wildlife Reserve, search for koalas and kangaroos and view waterbirds from special ‘hides’. You can also bring your own picnic or try Joséphine\'s Café. Other picnic areas also abound in Mount Martha whether you prefer beach or woodland. Just drive around and you are assured to find a private or public spot that will suit your needs.
Our little Mount Martha shopping mall offers a well stacked grocery shop, cafés, fish and chips, pizza (yes-they deliver!!), a video/dvd rental shop and even an optometrist. The best restaurants in the area are definitely located on Red Hill and in Mornington.
