Guest Reviews

  • "Having not stayed in Melbourne before this was the perfect introduction. The location was great, close to plenty of shops, restaurants and tram stops. The house was beautiful and catered well for a family. We found the owner to be very helpful and friendly - I would not hesitate to recommend it. "

  • "We are regular visitors to Melbourne and usually stay in Serviced Apartments in South Yarra or Carlton. Well there will be no more of that! We have discovered Rachel's little house in Fitzroy North and hope that it will be there (and available) for ever. Quality linen, furnishings, kitchen appliances, fittings and attention to detail make this house a pleasure to live in (and it feels like you are at home) not in a hotel or apartment. It is beautifully renovated and in a GREAT location. Brunswick Rd and the 112 Tram are very close. This means great resturants, pubs and bars are nearby as well as some nice boutiques (new clothes) and funky retro (used) shops all mixed together. In the words of Genreal McCarthur we can confident;y say......"We shall return!" "

  • "This house is extremely well furnished and equipped, and is much bigger inside than it appears from the pictures on the web. We found the location, just off the end of Brunswick St, to be fantastic, and the house extremely comfortable and excellent value for money. This is the best self catering accommodation I have ever found in Melbourne and I'll certainly be staying there again."

  • "What a marvellous home and location! Whisper quiet steet, and yet less than 5 mins walk to vibrant Brunswick Street. We throughly enjoyed our time there and rarely used the car, preferring instead to take advantage of the tram which is only 2-3 mins walk from home. We walked through the park to the supermarket (approx 10 mins)to stock up on groceries for our stay. We used the milkbar around the corner for day to day items (bread/milk/etc). The property itself was delightful - exactly as described - and ready for us to walk in, have a cup of tea and a short nap after our flight. The kitchen was well planned and fitted out in anticipation of all our culinary needs. Beds were super comfortable. Instructions for use of all appliances were clearly outlined in the information folder. We will definitely be staying there again, provided word doesn't get out about this little gem and therefore leaving us with no available vacancies. Thank you for a great holiday "

  • "Location Location Location - spent 10 days in this comfortable well appointed house in Fitzroy and felt totally at home. Rachel was very obliging - even cleaning the house mid stay - and we would thoroughly recommend this home to anybody wishing to have an enjoyable Melbourne stay."

  • "What a clean, beautiful and comfortable house! I had high expectations after seeing the pictures online, but was still pleasantly surprised when walked in. The house is very close to tram station and the exciting Brunswick street. We didn't use a car during our stay and found that it was convenient enough to take the tram to travel around the city. We had a wonderful time in Melboune and I am sure it won't be the same had we not stayed in "At Home in Melbourne""

  • "What a pleasant surprise! This house looks lovely on the website and even more lovely when you walk in... we stayed a week and had a wonderful time. The house is very close to the tram stop so the whole of Melbourne is just around the corner. We parked outside the house and never used the car - we got good value from our weekly tram passes. We ate out some times and, at Rachels' suggestion, brought home loads of food from the local supermarket as well as Victoria Market - just a short tram trip away. We hung our washing out to dry in the sunshine and felt really at home. Thanks so much for your wonderful hospitality Rachel."

  • "Clean, close, convenient and everything we needed! Great value and very comfortable for 1 adult and 4 kids. Rachel was incredibly helpful and didn't make me feel nervous about having the kids in such a nicely appointed home. Would recommend highly to anyone!"

  • "At Home in Melbourne is very comfortable accommodation; just enough luxury to make us feel pampered but it still feels like home. The locality can't be bettered either. Close to the city yet part of the local community. The last is our third stay so At Home in Melbourne has truly become our home-away-from-home."
