"We were in desperate need of a weekend getaway where we could forget about work for just a couple of days...when we got to The Summit we knew it was the perfect place to acheive this! It had THE BEST verandah to sit and enjoy a few (too many!!) red wines and even our hyperactive greyhound and boxer were content to just sit and watch the birdlife fly by (and we spotted one koala in the nearby treetops)!It was super!!"

"What a wonderful way to spend a rainy weekend - inside with a roaring fire. We were snug and warm with a wonderful view of the magnificent ocean and surrounds. When the rain stopped the 4wd track behind leads to a lovely rainforest walk which our 13 month old enjoyed too! The Summit is decked out with modern finishes and makes the stay that little bit nicer. Also being able to stay for 1 night only was a plus! We will be coming back, Summer and Winter!"

"The Summit has been getting good reviews as a couples retreat, but after needing a few days rest in silence and solitude I can say it works equally well as a short break away by yourself, guaranteed to bring peace to any weary soul. The cottage is just the right size for a single person and is comfortable, clean and stylish without being pretentious, with a lovely view of the trees and ocean and comforting wood fire. Having the owners close by, in their friendly but unobtrusive style, adds to the feeling of security for anyone staying by themselves. Wye River itself is extraordinarily beautiful, as is the stretch of Great Ocean Road in either direction from the town. There is no reason to leave Wye River with the cafe,restaurant and shop in town, but Lorne or Apollo Bay are not too far away. There are plenty of bush walks in the near vicinity, and the exercise you may get walking around Wye River is also sure to leave you invigorated - if you are looking for a few days away that is good for body and soul, the Summit should meet your expectations. "

"We had the most beautiful weekend staying at the Summit. Cozying up in front of the fireplace, cooking breakfast & dinner on the decking outside, taking in the beauty of the Great Ocean Road & surrounds (just as stunning in Autumn)and just generally loving being quietly tucked away in Wye River, in such beautiful surrounds. We had an amazing time. A perfect weekend.. We do hope to come back and stay again in the future. "

"Yeah the driveway is steep but aren't all the best things those that require a bit of extra effort?!? The Summit is absolutely immaculate and the gorgeous surroundings and plentiful (and very friendly) wildlife soon have you forgetting the worries of the world beyond Wye River. You'll fall in love with the place - we did!! We will be back..."

"A major plus for us was that our dog could enjoy the fun! Everyone comments on the driveway and yes, it is steep, wouldn't want to do it more than a couple of times a day, but the cabin at the top is immaculately finished and has everything you need when you are on holidays. The birdlife was abundant, we also saw 2 koalas in nearby trees; it was a photographer's heaven. Local Wye Pub had great food although in holiday season the wait is an hour plus. But worth the wait. We travelled to Apollo Bay and Lorne for day trips, less than half hour drive to each. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable and is one of those stays that you enjoy more looking at the photos. Main house is not far away from the cabin and the owners friendly. Thanks again. "

"Perfect spot for a couple. Accomodation is absolutely spotless. The little house is cosy but has everything you need; the porch is the perfect spot to unwind with a good book. Our dog was made to feel very welcome. Enjoyed the beach and the food from the Wye River General Store. The driveway is very steep, but can be conquered!"

"Very cosy stay surrounded by nature. We had seen different species of birds and koalas at the Summit. Hosts are hospitable which made our stay more comfortable. Definitely recommended for a stay at the Wye!"
