Description

Beautifully intimate for a couple, yet spacious enough for five, Hattie's Beach House is surrounded by established native trees and plenty of bird life. You'll know you're on holiday as soon as you arrive. It's less than a 5-min stroll to the fine white sands and pristine surf of Sth Broulee beach (patrolled Oct thru Apr, when the water is still beautiful!). Polished limed floor boards throughout and some retro furniture with groovy French striped canvas upholstery lend extra style to this very relaxed beach house. Perfect for one or two couples, or even a family of up to five.

Light and bright with north-facing back garden. Whales @ Broulee in season!

Fall asleep to the gentle sound of the ocean and wake to birdsong in the garden outside your bedroom window. Enjoy a sleep-in, then have breakfast in the delicious morning sun which streams in. Kick back on the deck and take in the relaxed vibe of the garden. Breathe in the revitalising seaside air and soak up the unhurried village atmosphere. The human battery really gets recharged at Hattie's.

You might even spot a whale or two - they sometimes spend time showing off at Broulee during their migratory season from late August to November.

There's wonderful cross-ventilation to keep you cool in summer and heating for snug winters. Nearby is Candlagan Creek, Broulee's tidal lagoon protected from the sea, with perfect swimming for young children. A second shower downstairs in the laundry is really handy after the beach. A second TV in the main bedroom should alleviate any programme conflicts. And screens on all windows and doors ensure all unwelcome guests remain outside!

Generous main bedroom (double bed), 2nd bedroom with trio bunk (double below, single above), both with leafy outlooks. The kitchen has views through the trees and is fully equipped (dishwasher, of course!). The rustic dining table seats six. Or you may prefer to eat at the more casual table downstairs overlooking the back garden near the gas barbeque. The local Muffin Shop is great for breakfast or lunch (they do much more than just muffins). A real dining surprise in Moruya, just a 10-min drive away, is The River, which we understand is the only restaurant between Wollongong and Victoria to have been awarded a Hat in the SMH Good Food Guide. You'll find some DVDs and light holiday reading at the house and a folder of local information we've put together to help you enjoy your stay.

Would you like us to provide bed linen & bath towels instead of schlepping both yourself?

We provide pillows, doonas, mattress & pillow protectors and a tea towel as standard.

For an additional $15/person we can save you a considerable schlepp by providing 100% cotton bed linen and bath towels as well and the convenience of the beds being made up for your arrival. Please let us know at the time of enquiry so we can include this in your quote. Then all you need to bring is your beach towels. And your fishing rods - nearby beach and river fishing are both promising!

  • "From the moment we walked into the house, we felt completely at home. It is a stylishly furnished and very well kept place that is within walking distance of the beach. A perfect holiday beach house!"

  • "This is a real gem! Its my 3rd stay here at Hatties and everytime its as good as I remembered. The owner is friendly, helpful and the place is always spotless, well maintained and well stocked. Looking forward to coming back again soon!"

  • "Really nice place to stay. It was set up like a real home so you could easily relax. Beaches were within lazy strolling distance and entertainment like Mogo zoo and restaurants were only 10-20 minutes up the road. Broulee is a nice little community in a great location. If you're considering a trip to Batemans, head to Hatties instead! "

  • "A very comfortable and well decked out beach house. Loved the retro-style furniture and bright, fresh feel to the place. Kitchen was clean and had all the utensils/appliances you need to whip up easy meals and make you feel at home. My fiance and I had a very cosy stay - we'll be back! "
    Claire , October 2010

  • "We had a fabulous time at Hatties. It is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed. I think I could cook a full Christmas dinner there. It's close to the beach and Broulee is a fantastic spot for families with Mogo Zoo close by. Many thanks for a great stay!"

  • "I loved my week at Hattie's. Very simple, rustic holiday house, but stylish and had everything you needed. Lovely space for dinners - maybe a beanbag for watching tellie might be good if there's more people staying. Can hear the sea from bed, and the birds in the morning were fantastic. Felt very relaxed at the end of the week!"
    Helen, April 2010

  • "My friend and I - two Sydney girls - just enjoyed an incredibly relaxing break away from the city at Hattie's Beach House. It was the perfect place to chill out - quiet and peaceful and just a stroll from the stunning beaches and from Broulee island. The house is small but perfectly formed - the two of us had a bedroom each and enough space to relax in. I loved the decor in the main room - great chairs - and the beds were super comfortable. The information provided by the owners was very comprehensive and friendly and enabled us to make the most of exploring the area. "
    Emma, April 2010

  • "Fabulous beach house set amongst the trees - bird life gorgeous. Short walk to all beaches and most days we had the beaches to ourselves. Very comfortable accommodation and after stepping through the front door, I felt like I was instantly on holiday. Just a short drive to Mogo which is a great "arty" village, fab coffees and a visit to the "blues guy" to see his collection of blues music is a must. All in all, I would recommend Hattie"s Beach House to anyone - singles, couples and families - one of the loveliest holidays I have had in a long time."

  • "Our family loved the elegant simplicity of Hatties. The house was clean and functional (including sharp knives and plenty of crockery and cutlery). Everything was in working order and easy to use. The location was perfect for surfing at Sth Broulee. The downstairs shower was great after being at the beach and we also loved the sunny backyard. Along with perfect Autumn weather we had a perfect week. Great value for money. Thankyou"
    Anna, April 2009

  • "This is a very comfortable, secluded, well equipped beach house. The front balcony has a very nice outlook into the bushland opposite and you can hear the ocean which was lovely. Broulee beach and the shops were very close and we really enjoyed our stay and hope to return for another weekend very soon."
