Description

Relaxing, understated, rejuvenating...100 acres of space. A great place to escape, enjoy good food and company at beautiful bumble creek.

Located amongst the lush Ourimbah Valley rainforest, on bumble creek is only 35 minutes drive from Wahroonga or 45 minutes from Newcastle. Totally private, yet 5 minutes from the F3, this is a convenient base from which to explore the Central Coast...if you're tempted to venture out.

With only one house on the property, the 100 acres of seclusion is all yours. Relax in this architectural-designed 3 bedroom sandstone house, a great place to recharge your batteries, and when you're ready explore the Central Coast. The beautiful beaches of Forresters, Avoca, Terrigal and Bateau Bay are only 25 minutes away. In need of retail therapy? A great variety of factory outlets at Tuggerah and Lisarow, and Westfield Tuggerah are only 15 minutes away.

What to do? Your choice. Chill out, relax on a day bed with a book from the library or explore the rainforest by walking up the shady creek. The stars are amazing at night.

The north-east facing lawn area overlooking Sydney Blue Gums and the valley rainforest is the perfect place for a morning sun salute to the sound of Bell Birds (yoga mats and hand weights provided). Ditto re long languid lunches. Or, explore rural Ourimbah Creek Road and meet the neighbourhood animals.

Don't forget to bring your walking shoes to explore the property, or a selection of gumboots (to rival the seven dwarves) are available for you to explore the creek and bush bash through the lush vegetation.

Your exclusive accommodation

Your solar passive house, based on a hexagonal design, features warm, contemporary interiors with quality sandstone, cedar and tiled finishes and the all important open fire, awaits.

Accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms. In the open plan main house there are two private queen bedrooms with fluffy doonas, choice of pillow and en-suites with showers. Across the undercover carport area there is an attached studio room. The studio room has a queen bed and a king single bed and underfloor heating. The versatile layout works equally well for couples or families.

The living space features a soaring cathedral ceiling, inviting Jetmaster open fire, french refectory table to enjoy meals and good company around, day bed, lounge and bean bags to kick back and relax in.

Like to cook? Then be your own Master Chef. The chefs kitchen features European appliances including cooktop, oven, microwave, coffee machine, wok and bread maker. We've also stocked the pantry for you, with a gourmet range of condiments, herbs and spices, bread making ingredients, and all the things you tend to forget to bring and realise you need when you get 'creative' in the kitchen.

There is no TV reception this deep in the valley and we've made a conscious decision not to have a TV or DVD player. You can really relax and enjoy time with family or friends over a slow-cooked meal and wine, grab a book from the library or enjoy that board game you haven't played in years. Don't forget to bring your iPod to connect to the Bose Lifestyle sound system.

A laundry with front loading washing machine, dryer and separate toilet and basin is located in the main house. There is easy access from the studio bedroom via the undercover carport breezeway. We ask guests to please conserve water as rainwater is our only source.

Wildlife and venturing out...should you feel like it

When exploring you may come across wallaroos, wallabies, wombats, cheeky bush turkeys, Bell Birds, Lyre Birds, Kookaburras, Black Cockatoos, King Parrots and an amazing variety of native wildlife.

Feel like venturing out? The neighbouring Australian Rainforest Saunctury (Forest of Tranquility) is a few minutes away down Ourimbah Creek Road and the Australian Reptile Park is only a 20 minute drive. Why not call in at the quirky Firecreek Fruit Wine Vineyard and the Bamboo Buddha Cafe, Gallery & Gardens, only 15 minutes away at Holgate, via the Ridgeway on the way to Terrigal or Avoca for a surf. Or head over to beautiful Bateau Bay, the Entrance for seafood and go for a walk in one the stunning national parks.

Executive and longer term rental enquires welcome.

Relaxing, understated, rejuvenating...space. The perfect getaway to escape to and enjoy good food and company...and less than 1 hour from Sydney. Find out for yourself, and enjoy on bumble creek soon.

  • "What a unique & magical place!!! Feels like a world away on your own secluded property complete with creek. Bumbles has a really beautiful energy and is the perfect place to come and recharge your batteries. It is well equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Can't wait to go back and would highly recommend to others."

  • "What a wonderful place. I booked this place as a weekend escape with one of my key staff members for a strategy session. (our partners to join us for the weekend). I needed someplace quiet, serene, and open. I couldn't have imagined what awaited us when we arrived. Stone surroundings with a gorgeous outlook, a rainforest down the track and a resident bush turkey who came to say hi every once in a while after doing laps of the house. Driving up the way, we were greeted by beautiful horses and comedic alpacas. With a Bose stereo system to back up our mood, even fitness equipment like weights, yoga mats and abs balls to help us get rejuvenated each morning to a book lending service that includes a "post paid" envelope for you to return it to the premises (the library is extensive by the way). The fireplace was amazing and if it wasn't so hot (thanks for the fans) we would have had it cranking every night! The most wonderful - although simple - thing that was provided was a pantry full of all the little things you could imagine to cook up a storm. Being able to go to an apartment/house etc and not have to buy oil, salt, pepper etc was WONDERFUL! Even a little port left over from the last resident was welcomed on a Saturday night after a sunset BBQ. I HIGHLY recommend this place and really really really look forward to going back again - thanks very much Kia and Michael, it's a truly wonderful escape in every sense of the word. Andrea "

  • "This is a fabulous getaway. The house is really well appointed, private and peaceful. It was really clean and had lots of extras that don't noramlly come with a weekender. We felt as though Kia and Michael wanted us to feel welcome, rather than just weekend renters. It was truly relaxing, tranquil and just what we needed."

  • "THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS I was planning a funeral and needed total privacy, peace and tranquility. My daughter on the other hand, needed gymnasiums, cafes and shopping centres. We both got exactly what we needed!!! "On Bumble Creek" is set on a picturesque hillside with not a neighbor in sight. Very discreet and private, yet only minuits from the city centre. I enjoyed strolling along the creek and finding wombat caves everywhere, waking each morning to bush turkeys and relaxing by reading the supplied books by the open fire. My daughter was able to drive off to the gym in minuits and then return each day to whip up extra healthy meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Some of the cooking utensils were so modern that we had no idea what they were. We had four days of exactly what we needed. Thanks Kia & Michael, we will definitely be booking with you again. • "Bumble Creek is a very special place. As soon as we arrived it started to work its magic .... the open fire with a glass of red wine, great meals full of conversation and laughter around the table, children bouncing on the trampeline, bush walking along the creek, surfing at local Avoca Beach, high ropes course at nearby Treetop Adventure Park, and delicious homemade bread - so much fun in one weekend. Thanks guys - you've thought of everything!"

  • "As we were attending a nearby funeral we wanted somewhere peaceful and quiet where we could all be together rather than in seperate motel/hotel rooms. Your beautiful stone cottage was absolutely perfect. It is situated so perfectly in the middle of a beautiful valley, down the winding trail past Alpacas and friendly horses, and at the end of the trail a lovely grassed hill presenting "On Bumbles Creek Cottage" perfectly. You know when you arrive at a place and everyone is smiling from ear to ear and eagerly running around checking everything out - well that is exactly what it was like when we opened the cottage door. It is a lovley country stone cottage with all the finishings of a modern house, with underfloor heating in the attached bedroom, multiple bathrooms, lovely stone fireplace, great big wooden table where we could all sit in comfort, and even a great sounding BOSE sound system - just bring your ipod or iphone like we did. the pantry was well stocked with condiments and basic food items as well!! What more can I say, we will certainly be back, and have recommended to 3 of our friends already. It really did brighten our time given the nature of our trip. Thankyou so much for such a thoughtfully prepared accomodation offering. Kind regards Scott"

  • "This holiday house is fabulous. It is a beautiful stone house in a secluded valley, but still within easy reach of Central Coast beaches etc. The furnishings, beds and linens are of high quality. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped with quality appliances and includes a well stocked pantry. The kids enjoyed going for walks to see the nearby horses and also paddling in the pretty creek. There is a huge solid timber table which is great for relaxing meals with friends. At night the stars are amazing and we often sat outside eating by candlelight. "

  • "Kia and Michael are really onto something here as they are not just providing a house to stay in, they are providing you with a home which differentiates what they offer. The location is so peaceful and tranqual with a lovely sense of freedom. We really enjoyed our stay there, they have thought of everything."

  • "After trolling through the pages of Stayz.com gazing blurry eyed at many old looking, tacky places I came across On Brumble Creek. Immediately I saw that this place was different, it looked like it had a quality that the rest couldn't come close to. And it has! After a weekend stay I can say this is the best pace within 1-2 hour drive of Sydney (and I've been to a few!). You could see the time, thought and effort the owners have put into this place to make our stay comfortable and relaxed. Besides the place being in an idyllic spot at the end of a track plopped in the middle of a quiet valley surrounded by forest and a huge grassy clearing, On Bumble Creek stands out from the rest because it's well built, modern, clean, and unbelievably stocked with those things you may have forgotten or even may not have thought of bringing. It was nice. I think, also,it was the fact it wasn't filled with dodgey furniture or nasty bed spreads left-over from grandma's house that made it special."

  • "A magical getaway! The sound of bellbirds and the 360 degree forest surroundings made it feel like a secret hideaway. The facilities are great and the special touches very thoughtful. We'll be back!"
