Description

Relax, recharge, rejuvenate...100 acres of space. A great place to escape, enjoy good food, company and nature at beautiful bumble creek. Perfect for a Christmas/New Year getaway in the bush but only 25 minutes to the beach

Located amongst the lush Ourimbah Valley rainforest, on bumble creek is only 35 minutes drive from Wahroongah. Totally private, yet 5 minutes from the F3, this is a convenient base from which to explore the Central Coast...if you're tempted to venture out.

With only one house on the property, the 100 acres of seclusion is all yours. Relax in this architect-designed 3 bedroom sandstone house. Solar panels generate the power supply and rain water is collected in tanks for reuse within the home.

on bumble creek is a great place to reconnect and recharge your batteries, and when you're ready, a convenient base to explore the beautiful Central Coast. The gorgeous beaches of Forresters, Avoca, Terrigal and Bateau Bay are only 25 minutes away. Or why not go mountain biking in the Ourimbah State Forest? Or visit the neighbouring Forest of Tranquility.

We are also a short drive to Ourimbah University and TAFE, Gosford and Palm Dale.

In need of retail therapy, gourmet supplies or cafes and restaurants? Westfield Tuggerah (with excellent speciality shops, super markets and cafes), Lisarow Plaza (with supermarket and bottle shop and the Thai Phunk and Rossinis' restaurants) and the convenient Ourimbah shops (with an excellent butcher and great for the obligatory newspapers) are only are only 10 to 15 minutes away.

What to do? Your choice. Chill out, relax on a day bed with a book from the extensive library, or explore the rainforest by walking up the shady Bumbles Creek. Bumbles was an adventurous aboriginal who lived and explored this area.

The stars are amazing at night - loose yourself star gazing on the front lawn at night.

The north-east facing lawn area overlooking Sydney Blue Gums and the valley rainforest is the perfect place for a morning sun salute to the sound of Bell Birds (yoga mats and hand weights provided). Ditto re sun drenched long languid lunches. Or, explore rural Ourimbah Creek Road and meet the neighbourhood animals.

Don't forget to bring your walking shoes to explore the property and meet the rain forest wildlife. However a selection of gumboots (to rival the seven dwarves) are available for you to explore the creek and bush bash through the lush vegetation.

Perfect for a week or weekend escape to the country.

Your secluded accommodation surrounded by nature

Your solar passive retreat, based on a hexagonal design is made of Hawkesbury sandstone from the property. The house is designed to be cool in summer and warm in winter - a prefect destination all year round. The house features warm, contemporary interiors and cedar and tiled finishes, plus the all important open fire to relax around.

Accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms. In the open plan main house there are two private queen bedrooms complete with fluffy doonas, fans and en-suites bathrooms with showers. Across the undercover carport area, there is an attached studio room. The studio room has a queen bed and a king single bed and toasty underfloor heating. The versatile layout works equally well for a couple or families.

The living space features a soaring cathedral ceiling, inviting Jetmaster open fire, french refectory table to enjoy meals and good company around, day bed, lounge and bean bags to kick back and relax in.

Like to cook? Then be your own Master Chef. The chef's kitchen features European appliances including cooktop, oven, microwave, coffee machine, wok and bread maker. We've also stocked the pantry for you, with a gourmet range of condiments, herbs and spices, bread making ingredients, and all the things you tend to forget to bring and realise you need when you get 'creative' in the kitchen. Perfect for a relaxed but decadent dinner party.

There is no TV reception this deep in the valley and we've made a conscious decision not to have satellite TV or a DVD/Blue Ray player. You can really relax and enjoy time with family or friends over a slow-cooked meal and wine, grab a book from the library or enjoy that board game you haven't played in years. It's the perfect place to go off the grid. But we haven't forgotten about music...don't forget to bring your iPod (and charger) to connect to the Bose stereo.

A full laundry with front-loading washing machine, dryer, twin tubs and separate toilet is located in the main house. There is easy access to the laundry toilet from the studio bedroom via the undercover carport breezeway.

Rainforest wildlife and venturing out...should you feel like it

When exploring, some of the rainforest birds and animals you may come across include wallaroos, wallabies, wombats, cheeky bush turkeys, bell birds, lyre birds, kookaburras, magic black cockatoos, king parrots and an amazing variety of curious native wildlife.

The Forest of Tranquility is 2 minutes down the road and the Australian Reptile Park and Treetops Adventure Park are both only only a 20 minute drive. Why not call in at the Bamboo Buddha Cafe, Gallery and Gardens, the quirky Firecreek Fruit Wine Vineyard, only 15 minutes away at Holgate. We recommend visiting these attractions via the scenic Ridgeway drive on the way to or from Terrigal or Avoca for a surf. Or head over to beautiful Bateau Bay or The Entrance for fresh local seafood after a bush walk or mountain bike in one the stunning national parks or state forests.

Executive and longer term rental enquiries welcome. On bumble creek is available for adults 25 years and over, and their friends and family.

Bookings need to be finalised and payment (via EFT direct deposit including $500 Security Deposit) is required at least 48 hours prior to check-in.

  • "Thanks again for the wonderful accommodation. It was a beautiful house in a beautiful location, and we really appreciated how well it was set up with all the thoughtful extras. As it turned out, it was just perfect for our situation, and those extras made the stay an absolute delight."

  • "Bumble Creek is a delightful escape from city life. Its serene, peaceful surroundings allowed us to unwind totally. Kia and Michael provided us with a warm welcome with many extra touches added to the house for comfort. It was spotlessly clean and well stocked with every convenience you may require. All furnishings were modern and good quality and comfortable. This is definitely a lovely place to relax and one I will be sure to visit again. "

  • "An absolute wilderness paradise! If you want an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, this property is perfect. Surrounded by native bush and alive with the sounds of nature it has all the joy of the outdoors, but the luxury of a hotel. All the little things have been thought off right down to marshmallows ready for toasting on the open fire, spacious, yet cosy it's our second visit and already is begining to feel like a second home, the perfect place to rest, rejunviate and unwind!"

  • "What a Gem! I was just coming back from OS and took my wife and 2 young children for a 3 days break... We had an amazing time: my oldest boy (3yo) spent his entire day watching birds, going on adventure and running around. At night the place is magical, quiet and serene. The family gathered around the fire place roasting mashmallows and reading stories.... Few details makes the visit to On Bumble Creek a great place: boots are supplied, cookery is good quality and pantry has everything you would have forgotten,.. We will be back soon an d thanks again..."

  • "This place is the ultimate getaway. So close to Sydney, and yet you feel like you are in your own world. No road noise, just the birds and nature... We went up to Mountain bike the amazing trails on the Central Coast, but didn't want to leave, and couldn't wait to get back... If you come up, make sure you leave yourself enough time just to explore the property. We didn't, so we'll just have to come back.. Full recommendations from us. Loved the little touches too, like the chocolates and soap...."

  • "Once again the perfect escape for our family, a beautiful, peaceful haven only an hour from Sydney. Highly recommended for families and couples, 100 acres of nature at it's best. The wildlife at the stone cottage is excellent, the lamas and horses down the road are gorgeous, the mountain biking was exhilerating and our three days were filled with sunshine. A much appreciated home away from home without TV (so quiet!) but all the mod cons you could ask for. Thank you again Kia and Michael. "

  • "What a wonderful retreat only 1.5 hours out of sydney..... the house is so well appointed... and the fireplace was such a treat... the well stocked pantry and library with heaps of games.....the beautiful vista that you are surrounded with in your little pocket of heaven. Its a short trip to the beach and a very pretty drive to get there. Your every need is catered for at this property and truly feel welcomed."

  • "We had the most beautiful stay at On Bumble Creek for our anniversary, thank you for your attention to detail and the wonderful atmosphere created in this special place. From the serenity of no TV, painting by the creek, hilarious hide'n'seek, trivia by the fire, and brilliant mountain biking 5 minutes away, On Bumble Creek is exactly what a great weekend escape is all about. "

  • "What an absolutely wonderful "get away from it all" experience over the June long weekend. Kia is extremely helpful and accommodating. The cottage is immaculately presented and the open fire was very cosy indeed. The property is very well fitted out and the pantry is open and stocked with gourmet produce to use. All of the equipment is first class and the bottle of red and marshmallows were an unexpected delight! I would be more than happy to once again enjoy the hospitality of 'bumbles' with friends and family in the future. Sue "
